Spotlight This is a 18″ X 24″ casein painting on panel that I recently finished. An internal fire shines a bright spotlight from this musician who plays sunny songs that cause the curtains of night to open making way for the daytime. This one took quite a while, as I’m sure you might have suspected from the detail. For me it was a particularly interesting challenge to paint the night curtain, I wasn’t sure how that idea was going to work out. In the end I am pleased. Night Cap 11″ X 14″ Casein Painting I don’t drink alcohol, so when someone mentions a night cap, I think of a sleeping cap made out of night time (as illustrated in this painting), which is something I use nearly every night of course Had some fun experimenting on the texture of the shirt in this one, used a silicone shaper tool to push paint around and built up a few layers. RIP My Wacom Cintiq It was fun while it lasted (which turned out to be a pretty long time!) Sad news. My Wacom graphics tablet died a few days ago. It was a Cintiq 22HD and I’d been using it since 2014-15ish. It served me well for probably a bit over 8 years and in hindsight it was a very good purchase. No regrets! That being said I’ve decided to go a different route when it comes to a replacement and not get another Wacom. Mijello Mission Titanium Class My review of gouache paint from Korean company Mijello Mission I have Mijello’s watercolors and like them pretty well and saw they had a gouache line now so I decided to give it a try and purchased this set. Mijello Mission Titanium Class Gouache Buy Now Their lightfastness ratings seem higher than normal for some of the colors, which is great… but leaves me a bit skeptical.
