SHORT FILM IS AVAILABLE FOR THE PRICE OF A CUP OF COFFEE. LINK HERE Last summer, I went hiking with my then 6-year-old son, Ib, for the first time. I decided that we would take a night train to the Swedish mountain area around Abisko in the northern part of Sweden. From Abisko, we hiked in and around the valleys of Gohpasvagge and Kårsavagge west of Abisko National Park. A sky lift saved us 500 meters of elevation on the first day and provided easy access to the mountain pass to Gohpsavaggi, where we found a beautiful camp spot with a view of snow-covered mountains and a distant look at La ..read more

Packrafting and camping at St. Tränningen Nature Reserve This summer, Rune, one of my really old friends from my hometown, was visiting my home in Sweden for a couple of days. Rune lives in downtown Copenhagen and is by no means an outdoor type. Anyhow he wanted to experience nature together with me and hence we decided to paddle out and camp in the woods together. This was actually the second time Rune and I paddled together. First time was some 20 years ago on a canoe trip where Rune, coming directly from a party, forgot his sleeping bag and mat, and had a cold trip. This time I provided ..read more

Lower Norrefors 2021 where Jeremie Lamart is ready to do his boof over the drop. In the background the other paddlers are lining up for their run. Notice the security setup. Krokån is a scenic river with a lot of rapids located in Halland, Sweden. It’s an all time favorite of mine since I visited the river for the first time back in 2014. Since then I’ve so far been to the river five times and am planning to come back many more times. It’s only a 2 ½ hour drive from my home, one and a half hour from Malmö, Copenhagen and Lund and can even be reached with public transportation and some hiking ..read more

Just Me, Nature As some might have noticed, the pace of which I produce videos and movies have been slow the last couple of years. The reason is simple: I’ve moved to Sweden, brought an old train station house and become a father. Filmmaking takes a lot of time (really lots of time) and nursing a baby (and eventually a small child) takes even more time. As do house renovations. Arriving at the small island of Rynäset in lake Stora Tresticklan. Since the summer of 2018 I've been working on making a long movie from your trip to the river Kaitum in Swedish Lapland where we hiked over a mount ..read more

Oblivious to Dangers With this video I want to share a safety incident that took place during the second Swedish packrafting Roundup in 2017. The episode was a major reason to form the Swedish Packrafting Association for arrange the swedish roundup with more focus on safety. To release this film has taken a great deal of considerations. Because this is an important but also diligent subject. On one hand to spreading awareness of river safety is an important matter. On the other hand I really don’t want to scare anyone away from packrafting, or making the safety awareness into a discussion a ..read more

A Balkan Boating Road Trip I once before planned to visit Bosnia & Herzegovina. Back in 2006 when studying geography at the university, a field trip for studying diaspora culture brought me to a village in eastern Serbia. A couple of fellow student and I planned to continue travel to Sarajevo afterwards. Unfortunately the death of a close family member forced me to return to Copenhagen for the funeral instead. In the summer for 2016, after I become diaspora culture myself, I got a second chance to visit Bosnia & Herzegovina. This time it was for packrafting. Beautiful limestone ca ..read more

Frozen at upper Säveån

Frozen at upper Säveån As the river narrowed towards the rapids my packraft gained speed. Soon I’d pass the point of no return and hit the short but intense 1.5-meter drop. I’d navigated through without troubles and catch an eddy out of the current. “It was fun” I’d said to Alexander who already sat tight inside the same eddy. One of the expedition kayaks passed us after successful running the rapids. A “plop” interrupted our conversation and we both the look downriver where the kayak had passed. When passing the low bridge the kayaker didn't pay attention at the powerful eddy line. A split s ..read more
