LNG bunkering volumes in the Dutch port of Rotterdam reached a record level in the first quarter of this year, as the global fleet of LNG-powered vessels continues to increase. Europe’s largest bunkering port reported LNG volumes of 215,247 cubic meters in the first quarter of this year, a rise of 150 percent compared to 86,088 cbm in the first quarter last year and a rise of 44.5 percent compared to 148,933 cbm in the previous quarter. The Bathtub Reef Beach renourishment project continues Thursday, March 21, 2024, at 1585 S.E. MacArthur Blvd. on South Hutchinson Island in Martin County. Nourishment has covered the sea wall in a sand dune. There will be a second phase to build another sea wall across MacArthur Boulevard on the lagoon side, and a third phase to raise the road. European bridges over maritime harbours are not likely to collapse if they are hit by seagoing vessels, according to several large European port authorities who Euractiv contacted following the March collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in the US city of Baltimore.
