Northampton Bike Park is turning one this month. To celebrate the special milestone an open day is happening on Saturday the 23rd of September at the park on Eagle Drive Northampton. During the day, there will be free coaching sessions, bike maintenance workshops and fun races for juniors. The event is free to attend, the only charge is for car parking, which along with donations, fund the running and upkeep of the park. Free to use and suitable for both beginners and experienced mountain bikers, it’s not surprising that the new Northampton Bike Park is proving so popular. Our day-to-day operations are run by local charity Northamptonshire Sport and two new Bike Park Officers have joined the team to work at the Park. Mountain bike enthusiasts of all ages and abilities will be able to enjoy Northampton’s brand-new bike park which opened on Monday 26th September.   The new Bike Park has been created on a former golf course, which was being used as part of Delapré Golf Centre until around six years ago and is connected with other parts of the town by the Norbital cycle route. Costing £750K to build, £250,000 of funding came from Sport England via the ‘Places To Ride fund’ a partnership between Sport England, British Cycling and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS).
