Vicksburg Daily News - Edwards native and former Mississippi State University football player Trent Singleton has committed to the University of South Alabama. Singleton, who was a star defensive back and quarterback at Raymond High School, made the announcement on Monday. He helped the Rangers to a 7-4 winning season in 2021. Singleton spent his the last couple of seasons at MSU, but his new position coach will be Vicksburg native Jay Hopson at South Alabama. Human leg discovered in a Mississippi Lake

Vicksburg Daily News - An investigation is ongoing after a human leg was discovered inside a Rankin County Lake. On Sunday, a group of kids were fishing at Primos Lake off Mangum Road when they spotted a human leg with a sock on it at around 7:15 p.m. Police arrived on the scene after the kids called 911 and the body part was taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office. Reports indicate that the leg had been in the water for a while.More information is expected to be released. Vicksburg Daily News - The Warren County Fire Services held its annual crawfish boil on Saturday and awarded several responders for excellent service. Awards were given out to the responders who took the most calls. Mitch Lange and Zach Hearn tied for receiving 119 calls. Chuck Tate received an award for taking 129 calls. Vicksburg Daily News - It’s been over a month since Vicksburg native Sade Robinson was killed in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and most of her human remains are still not found. 19-year-old Robinson was killed and dismembered after going on a date with 33-year-old Maxwell Anderson. Last month, Milwaukee County confirmed that a severed leg, foot, torso, and arm were all discovered. Maxwell is in police custody and has pleaded not guilty to the charges of First Degree Intentional Homicide, Mutilating a Corpse, and Arson of Property Other Than Building.
