Just a quick post today to say I have a new vlog up on YouTube. In it, I am preparing for my summer launch, so you can have a sneak peak at my two latest paintings and all the products I am making using them. I also have a long overdue (and brutally honest) chat about how well my small business has done in the first six months or so of being up and running. I focus on Etsy sales, which isn’t the whole story as I do supply a local shop and I also sell privately to people at church. There’s also a special thanks to all of my blog readers who have watched my videos, liked, commented or followed ..read more

It seems like a very long time since I wrote updating you on all the family. Much has happened. I think I’ll start with the youngest and move through to the oldest (that would be me ). I’ve been really remiss getting photos. I feel like I’m perhaps juggling one too many balls… Becca is doing well. I say that, but actually she broke her finger and damaged a growth plate whilst playing football. Unfortunately it was on her right hand, making writing an impossibility for three week. I gave her lots of video school, bought her books on Coco Chanel and Louis Vuitton (she wants to be a fashion desi ..read more

Candle-Making at Home For Beginners

Gary and the children were out at a barn dance, which Gary was playing in a band for. The absence of Gary as a dance partner, my innate introversion and the fact that the house was sitting quiet, cosy and most importantly empty, gave me the impetus to turn down the barn dance for a night in with myself crafting. I knew I needed to do some candle-making at home, but I also added some reading of a few new books, making a small paint palette from polymer clay and some sketching. With marmite toast and steaming cups of Earl Grey tea, I could not wait. Candle-Making at Home: Equipment Whilst the in ..read more

How to Make Stickers at Home

If you’ve ever wondered how to make stickers at home, this is the post for you… well, actually, this is the video for you! Whilst I realise it might be counter productive of me to make a video showing you how to make stickers, given that I sell stickers, it’s such a wonderfully fun thing to do, I couldn’t help myself. I wish I’d known how to do this when I was homeschooling littles. I could have made themed stickers, reward stickers, quiet time stickers… honestly, I would have loved to have had this knowledge. Making Stickers Using Procreate and Canva You don’t need Procreate or Canva if you s ..read more

It’s funny how when one steps away from one’s blog, how difficult it is to come back to it. I’ve had an essay due for my master’s which has taken up every last bit of energy I have. I’m doing okay with my YouTube videos, I think in part because I find them so relaxing to make. They are becoming the thing I do to relax! Anyway, I really don’t want to neglect my website in this season of busyness. So, I thought perhaps if I just posted my next You Tube video it might kickstart me posting more regularly. This is actually a video I posted about three weeks ago and is a Scrawlrbox unboxing, in addi ..read more

We’ve been enjoying the Easter holidays here at angelicscalliwags. I’m undecided about whether we head back to school next week or take the entire week off. The girls have so many social activities planned I’m not sure it will be worth going back for the small amount of spare time they have! Anyway, this is all we’ve been up to over the last week or so. Garden Centre Date with Gary Gary had £100 of garden centre vouchers which had been gifted to him for helping out various friends. He woke up on Saturday and decided that as we needed to take Abigail to her army cadets’ March in March fund rais ..read more

There’s a kind of Love that God only knows… “This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life.” John 3:16 Happy Easter Sunday The post Loved Beyond Measure appeared first on ..read more

I am so enjoying not being in February! The sun is shining, the mornings are light and my va va voom has returned! I’m not sure why February affects me so much, but it is like a wreaking ball through my life each year. It takes a swing, knocking me off kilter for approximately four weeks and then stops swingings allowing me to climb back up to a life that looks recognisably Claire’s. It’s been a good week, this week, starting with Mother’s Day and ending with me finishing a book I can’t wait to share with you all. Absolutely the bestest, most warmly written, heart rendering book you’ll even r ..read more

I’m late again in posting this. Apologies but between going away, Ads’ 21st birthday and studying for a masters, I just don’t seem to have much time on my hands. I need to improve my efficiency! Hopefully, the murder mystery photos will make up for it! Books Read I finished Oliver Sacks’ autobiography, On the Move: A Life, probably a couple of weeks ago now. I reread The Circadian Code by Dr Satchin Panda and Atomic Habits by James Clear. These were books I particularly enjoyed last year and were books on my reread list this year because the message in both had such an incredible effect on my ..read more
