Albania has been described as one of the least religious countries in the world – some might see that as a challenge, but the Bible Society in Albania see this as an opportunity. Since the beginnings of the work of the Bible Society in Albania in 1996 they have used sports to reach out to children and young people with Bible Stories.
I’m excited to tell you about a young man called Emiljo. Emiljo is from Albania – he lives in Tirana and studies Sport Science at University. Emiljo volunteers with the Bible Society of Albania and has been a follower of Christ for several years.

James Diffin, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees
“I wonder what language we’ll speak in eternity?”
This was the question I asked myself as I stood in a service with delegates from at least 130 nations in Westerkerk, the largest church in Amsterdam, as part of United Bible Societies’ (UBS) World Assembly. The songs were sung in English, French and Spanish. Scripture was read in Quechua, Runyoro and Khmer.
As I looked around my brothers and sisters, gathered for worship as representatives from Bible Societies all over the world, I couldn’t help but feel a real sense of a fore ..read more

If you were to decide one day to go sky diving, you have decided to put your trust not only in the person you are attached to but also the big piece of material that they are attached to.
You have decided to put your entire life in the hands of a stranger and their big bedsheet.
You would trust and jump, and they would pull the cord to let out that bed sheet and you would look at the world from a whole new perspective.
It doesn’t matter how much faith you have; it matters how strong the object of your faith is.
It doesn’t matter if you have a little confidence in your parachute, what matters i ..read more

Friday the 17th of November at our Gathering was a wonderful evening of fellowship, stories and lovely big tray bakes.
Meeting in the beautiful T3 centre in the House of Vic-Ryn we had a time of tea and coffee facilitated by some of our volunteers. This gave people an opportunity to find out more about us through the resource stand or to interact with other people who have been supporting us for years.
As we then moved into the auditorium, James Diffin the chair of our board opening the evening by speaking about Nehemiah 8 where Ezra and Nehemiah open the book of the law for the first time in ..read more

Despite major persecution, the church across the Middle East and North Africa is growing! But, they desperately need Bibles. Your support today is vital to help provide God’s Word to everyone who wants it.
There are some places where it is simply too dangerous for me to share about the details of Bible Society work – it is too risky for our colleagues and the Believers they support in these places for us to go into too much detail.
The Bible Societies are legally allowed to work in the countries we are supporting but evangelism is tightly restricted and there are huge risks in shar ..read more

Many of us will enjoy a good story, some of us might be good at telling a story too.
Simply the Story is a group which focus on telling Bible stories. We support a project using Simply the Story material in the Gulf where groups of migrants are equipped to share their faith through telling Bible stories. Many migrant workers in the Gulf region have low levels of literacy so story telling is a great way to introduce Jesus to others.
In Northern Ireland we can also equip ourselves to share stories of Jesus through story telling. Perhaps you have read a great book recently or seen a great film ..read more
