Pickleball players can reserve open courts through the CourtReserve site. Use of the system requires registration, which can be accomplished by contacting Allie (akd50@earthlink.net). Only individual registrations are permitted (not family). Hi Players: As fall approaches and seasonal players return there are a few updates. Some of you left before the four courts were resurfaced last spring. They are beautiful! The sink hole on court 4 is gone. COURT CLEANING Maintenance has agreed to blow off the courts when leaf and grass debris are present, however they cannot do this until after 8 am. Because of the slip hazard and potential damage to court surfaces, it is important that the courts be cleaned regularly. While reading this months Pickleball magazine, the article “Iron Sharpens Iron - Find Your Collin” (pg 54) it reminded me of the importance of purposeful drilling to improve your game. A great example of this is the weekly Tuesday afternoon drills for women led by MaryJo Smith. She has done an outstanding job with careful planning and personal dedication to provide quality drills. Over the past 2 weeks 3600 sound metrics were recorded. These were collected between 8:30 - 9:15 am over 3 days without and 3 days with the fence black covers in place. The times chosen are prime time play when most courts are in full use. That is documented by SignUp Genius reservations and other 3 courts using open play. The players were not aware of testing.
