Want to be the best birth partner ever? The one all moms rave on about and make others jealous? Well this is how and I will keep it short and sweet as I know I only have about 30 seconds of your time (birth partner). Here are your top 5 ways to be awesome at birth. Get involved during pregnancy. Read books, listen to podcasts and learn. And don’t eye roll when the guided relaxation is played at night time as trust me you will get a good nights sleep from it too! Know the birth plan or plans or preferences – whatever mom has. So basically know what she wants and what she doesn’t want. You will ..read more

My Birth Story

MY BIRTH STORY AND WHY IT WASN’T THE STORY I WANTED TO WRITE I myself didn’t have the best experience with my childbirth, it wasn’t bad and this is not a birth horror story but afterwards it  got me thinking, how could I have made this better. I mean I know it’s too late but what about if I birthed again or for others birthing. I became a prenatal yoga teacher through a love of yoga and a need of finding a new career as my ‘old’ life of flight attendant didn’t seem fitting now. I then became a Hypnobirthing teacher and started spreading the magic which let us just call it VOICE. When I ..read more

You’re busy. And that’s before you became pregnant. Now you’re even busier as life continues with work, family, social life although that lessens as we learn to say NO! but I’ll go more into that in a minute. Trimester 1 Trimester one you’re tired as the body adjusts to the change and quite possibly sick or even just nausea although sometimes I think that is worse. Also the big debate on should I or shouldn’t I exercise at this time. My opinion (not advice just my opinion) on this is if you were exercising before, stay with the same exercise- unless it’s a contact sport or something dangerous ..read more

We suggest from your second trimester when (hopefully) the morning or all day sickness has subsided and you are felling more normal and maybe by now more pregnant. There is nothing a like a first scan to make you really believe something is actually i ..read more

Why do prenatal yoga? I get asked this all the time. Or I get moms to be come to me and tell me about their ‘other’ class and ask me why is mine so different. As a teacher of both yoga and prenatal yoga and being a specialist in the later I am here to let you know the difference and also why its is so important to switch classes at this time.   Prenatal yoga is slower paced and although I have moms shout out but I need to do more, you may but your baby is saying slow down mom! But why mom says? I feel more stretchy and flexible than usual, look my legs can step back this far and check out ..read more

Our first Om moms retreat at Al Barari and wowee. It felt like I had left Dubai for the day (by the way staying is not a bad thing) but left and found pure fresh air and greenery. It had been a while I had thought about bringing a group of mums out for a day and just doing all things yoga, birth preparation and just MOM to be. It also took a while to find the right location. I mean you can’t just retreat anywhere as when you go on a retreat you simply retreat. So yes scenery is everything.  It is so amazing to simply get away, to lose yourself and to well simply retreat. But in the ..read more

When my little boy was born I did all the things I ‘should do’ to fit in with the mum squad. This included amongst the numerous coffee and cake mornings, baby classes. To be honest some were great and some, well they did nothing for me and I’m not sure what my little baby got out of them as he was just along for the ride. Now I know that everyone is different in their likes, wants and needs but one thing we both did enjoy and I know he did too as there were lots of smiles and giggles, was baby yoga. So what was different? Well mum and baby yoga wasn’t just a class for him where I didn’t get an ..read more
