The folks over at CBS Sports released on Saturday a video looking back at the last 28 years of SEC football on CBS. The network lost rights to ABC/ESPN to broadcast the best conference in the sport starting in the 2024 season.
The video is six minutes, eight seconds of nostalgia. Anyone who has watched the SEC on CBS for the last two deacdes plus will see something memorable. You’re likely even to see something you have since forgotten about.
What you are unlikely to see is Arkansas prominence. In fact, the Razorbacks are shown just four times in the video. Only Vanderbilt, Mississippi State a ..read more

As expected, Arkansas offensive line coach Cody Kennedy is now former Arkansas offensive line coach Cody Kennedy.
Mississippi State, which had been reportedly set to hire him Friday morning, made the announcement official Friday evening. Kennedy is joining first-year head coach Jeff Lebby’s staff with the Bulldogs. Lebby was hired away from Oklahoma.
Kennedy spent three seasons with the Razorbacks. The first two went well as Arkansas was seventh in FBS in yards rushing per game. But 2023 was a disaster. Arkansas ran for its fewest yards per game since 2012 and the Hogs gave up 47 sacks, a scho ..read more

Texarkana native Landon Jackson made a name for himself in 2023 on the defensive line, enough to get himself put on a variety of NFL Draft boards.
But the junior defensive end is considering sticking around another year to see if he can make any more noise.
Jackson led the team in sacks in 2023 and was sixth on the team in tackles with 44.
His highlight game was at Alabama in October, where he had 11 tackles and 3.5 sacks.
Originally committed to LSU, Jackson played minimally there for a season before electing to get in the portal and transfer to Arkansas.
He has a little brother, Lance, who i ..read more

A tumultous offseason has only just begun at Arkansas.
Things took another turn Friday when Razorbacks kicker Cam Little declared for the NFL Draft.
“Thank you to Coach Pittman for believing in my abilities since I stepped foot on campus and giving me an opportunity to represent the state of Arkansas,” Little wrote on X. “I would also like to thank Coach Fountain, Coach Krysl, Coach Herd, and Coach Sabock who all have helped me very much along this incredible journey in Fayetteville.”
Little is third all time in school history in field goals made with 53. Only a junior, he is leaving school ju ..read more

After several days of mostly positive vibes around the Arkansas football team – by most – the Razorbacks were dealt a bit of a blow Friday.
Bauxite High School safety Marcus Wimberly decommitted from Arkansas that morning. A three-star recruit, Wimberly had initially committed to the Razorbacks in July.
Michigan, which is expected to reach the College Football Playoff, had also offered Wimberly and the BHS senior was at the Wolverines’ game against Ohio State.
“After very difficult conversations, I have decided that it is best to re-open my recruitment and de-commit from Arkansas,” Wimberly wr ..read more

Arkansas offensive line coach Cody Kennedy had been linked with other jobs during the week and Friday morning, FootballScoop reported that Kennedy is expected to be hired to the same job at Mississippi State.
Kennedy just finished his third season with the Razorbacks. It didn’t go well.
Arkansas gave up a school-record 47 sacks to rank 129th in FBS out of 133 teams. The Hogs’ rushing attack averaged just 139 yards per game, barely inside the top 100 and its lowest team total since 2012.
Head coach Sam Pittman said Thursday at the introductory press conference for offensive coordinator Bobby Pe ..read more

With former Arkansas head football coach Bobby Petrino returning as the Razorbacks’ offensive coordinator next season, it could alter the focus of recruiting over the next few weeks.
The early national signing period for high school seniors is Dec. 20-22. The traditional National Signing Day is set for Feb. 7.
Arkansas coaches plan to visit the state’s top-rated player, Pine Bluff wide receiver Courtney Crutchfield, this weekend. The 4-Star prospect committed to Arkansas on April 23, over Power 5 schools Tennessee, Missouri, Auburn, Oklahoma, Iowa State, Kansas State, among others. But he re ..read more

Bobby Petrino took questions for almost 30 minutes Thursday. They were different than the ones he took the last time he represented the University of Arkansas.
Petrino was introduced as the Razorbacks’ offensive coordinator for the 2024 season by coach Sam Pittman at a press conference Thursday afternoon. Questions were about his return, what has changed and the kind he probably likes most, football.
And while the game itself is probably top of his and Pittman’s minds, the hire remains controversial, regardless of what Arkansas fans think about it.
Petrino knows that, saying he isn’t the same ..read more

Sam Pittman took the microphone first. His job was to field media questions ahead of his newest hire.
Bobby Petrino was ultimately introduced Thursday, after Pittman was finished, as Arkansas’ newest offensive coordinator. The former head coach, who once disgraced the program with controversy, was back in a place he said he was most fond of all his coaching stops for the first time, really, prolonged, since his firing in 2012.
The hire, of course, was almost as controversial as Petrino’s exit. Thus Pittman went first, to explain.
Mostly, Arkansas’ beleaguered current head coach, said he wanted ..read more
