World Health Organization: 3 key facts for actionable freedom

With the World Health Organization (WHO) in the news again (when is it not?) constitutional conservatives are concerned. Fortunately, the facts support actionable freedom. He who would take over the world must first control the money, the data, and the minds of men. WHO conspicuously lacks these powers in its own right. As a voluntary member association it has influence, but no teeth. Most importantly, it is not a nation. It owns no land, and has no citizens. Its standing to make any treaty with the U.S., much less a binding one, is dubious. As a non-nation, WHO cannot tax or print money. Inst ..read more

Celebrate Healthcare Freedom Defenders: a Call for Nominations
Michigan Healthcare Freedom Blog

Watching (often depressing) Lansing bill hearings this week created a sense of urgency. We need to celebrate legislators who actively defend our healthcare freedoms! As you know, healthcare freedom is under perpetual attack in Lansing. It would be easy to get disgusted and write off the whole show. Yet it has never been more important to speak up – especially for the lawmakers who represent our interests. Proposing a bill is relatively easy, and so is talking to friendly audiences. But speaking up on the record takes courage. Hearings tend to be tightly controlled for time and content. Getting ..read more

Public Health: the Backwater of Healthcare
Michigan Healthcare Freedom Blog

I’ve written before about public health being the backwater of healthcare. However, today my local health department not only reinforced the point, it may have set a new standard for backwardness. Longtime subscribers may remember the Covid Sanity Fact Sheet, which we published on April 9, 2020. In it, I listed fresh air, sunlight, and UV light air purification to effectively reduce transmission. Common sense stuff, right? A mere 47 months and two weeks later, I give you the guidance from today’s county public health School and Child Daycare Newsletter. (Click here for full-sized image.) Note ..read more

The Meaning of the MHF Logo
Michigan Healthcare Freedom Blog
by Abigail Nobel

Readers might assume the Michigan Healthcare Freedom (MHF) logo refers to the medical caduceus, but that’s only part of the story. Caduceus: historic symbol of messenger, healing, and commerce The caduceus of ancient mythology and classical literature was carried by a herald or official messenger, its wings signifying speed. Before that, the staff and snake represented power over life and death. Old Testament Israelites were suffering as slaves in Egypt when God commissioned Moses and Aaron to show His power to Pharaoh. Among other wonders, Aaron’s staff became a snake and showed Pharaoh’s im ..read more

Calling for Public Comment on Discriminatory MDHHS Standards

Recent campus displays of woke antisemitism have ignited public opposition to discriminatory Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policies across the U.S. Unfortunately, the State of Michigan is doubling down on discriminatory DEI policies through its bureaucratic branch. The Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) recently proposed standards that target minorities in our state for data collection. Earlier this year, American journalist Bari Weiss described DEI as “an ideological movement bent on recategorizing every American not as an individual, but as an avatar of an identity gro ..read more

Jeff Foxworthy, Michigan-style ?

Remember the Jeff Foxworthy jokes that started with, “You might be a redneck if …”? Claiming the percentage of my heritage that qualifies as redneck, I loved Foxworthy’s humor. But it wasn’t funny this week when MDHHS did its own variation of the redneck joke with special needs. Your healthcare might be overregulated if … MDHHS offers an entire online course on its website just to explain Children’s Special Health Care Services (CSHCS), one of its many programs. Yesterday, MDHHS announced a webinar to teach CSHCS users how to appeal insurance denials. Although some of its users have private in ..read more

Video: Speaking at the Ottawa County Patriots
Michigan Healthcare Freedom Blog

With all the healthcare freedom issues in Michigan, I was ready to talk when the Ottawa County Patriots invited me to speak last week. Thanks to the OCP organizers and production team for making the videos available! Important bills discussed Michigan’s proposed single-payer health insurance, interstate license compacts, and mental health clinics in the schools. (Yep – I had a verbal typo in the closing section. You probably knew it was the Revolutionary War!) The best part of speaking is being able to share healthcare freedom issues and principles. OCP members covered even more issues in the ..read more
