SIX ARTISTS. ONE YEAR OF IMPACT.
Today, The Arts Foundation announced their 2024 Springboard Award recipients – six outstanding artists at a formative stage in their careers, checking in for a year of mentorship with some of our illustrious artist alumni! Together, they’ll explore the many possible pathways to life as a full-time practicing creative in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Entry fee
$20.00 per entry for 26 years and over and
$10.00 per entry for 18-25 years.
Written assessment is available for an additional $20 per entry.

Open to writers residing in Aotearoa New Zealand aged eighteen years and over.
Limit 1500 words.
Submissions may be written in English or te reo Māori.

NZSA member, Wes Lee, has been awarded the Free Verse Prize, by The Poetry Society in London. The £500 prize for a single poem was judged this year by Chrissy Williams.

Announcing the NZSA Laura Solomon Cuba Press Prize 2024 shortlist

I was initially resistant to the idea often suggested to me that the Government should deliver an arts strategy.
The whole point of the arts and creativity is that people should do whatever the hell they want, unbound by the dictates of politicians in Wellington. Anne Kennedy is the judge of The Kathleen Grattan Prize for a Sequence of Poems 2024 with a first prize of $1000 for the winner.
Anne is a Tāmaki Makaurau poet, novelist and teacher. Awards include the Prime Minister’s Award for Poetry, the NZ Post Book Award for Poetry and the Montana Book Award for Poetry.
