I was lucky enough to meet Brock for the first time outside of my new apartment while in the stupor of school and new puppy life. I had brought Juno out for a pee, and Brock rolled up cool as a cucumber into the other tenant's parking spot. In an embarrassed daze I waved hi, probably with a bag of poop in my other hand… painfully self-aware that in my exhaustion nothing about me exuded “cool new friend” at that moment. But with true East Coast hospitality running through his veins, Brock was quick to be welcoming and kind, to hang for a patio beer, and to show me some of the most beautiful sp ..read more

But when this would happen, I would do my best to grasp the idea, until I could make it back into a galley to jot my thought down on whatever was available.  That is how the opening line of “Powerful Women” came to be. The song is an acknowledgement that we are not always able to stay connected wit ..read more

In every moment you carry it around a reminder to me Perhaps I have been so honest with you you can’t conceive I have secrets anymore you don’t pause to inquire maybe you just can’t care Erasure of our happiness has occurred the simple times and simple love overshadowed by the grandiose the neon new, explicit in the darkness In the wasteland that was our life your voice descends from your dream I hear it through the grey I watch the skies changing I stand here seeing planted deep in solid ground You mock my offerings and the embers, I watch them burn through me I want reminders, printed ..read more
