On 23 February 2024, the EAPM Board had its first hybrid meeting of the year in Malta. It was the first opportunity for our newest Board Member (and previous Auditor), Ulrik Brix to meet with us in-person since the Annual Meeting of the Delegates Assembly in October 2023. It was also our first face-to-face meeting with Berna Oztinaz as President and David Ducheyne as Vice-President.

We are delighted to announce that Berna Öztinaz from PERYÖN Turkey has begun her three-year tenure as EAPM President. Berna has been a Board member of the EAPM since 2020 and was elected as Vice-President in 2023. Berna is the first female President of the EAPM and says; “With the EAPM Board and Secretariat, we will sail together to create the best value for the member countries and a better world of people management”.

Each year we invite Delegates from the 35 European HR Associatons that form EAPM membership together for a hybrid Annual Meeting. This year, we were hosted in Lisbon by APG Portugal as part of their HR Week.
The week started on Tuesday 17 October with the EAPM Board meeting the APG Board over dinner. It was the first opportunity to meet our Lisbon hosts face-to-face and strengthen the connections. The following day, we were hosted by PWC Portugal for an EAPM Board meeting. We hold three in-person Board meetings each year and we certainly appreciate the value of meeting face-to-face. On Friday, 20 October, EAPM Delegates were invited to attend the annual conference of APG – Associação Portuguesa de Gestão das Pessoas. Four of our Board Members, Even Bolstad, Berna Oztinaz, David Ducheyne and Solveiga Grudiene were invited to speak on a panel. David summarised the annual conference and highlighted the myriad of insights that speakers from various countries gave.
