Register for Gifts - this is a job for you and your finance to do together! You want to build a life and home together so you both have a stake in this. Depending if you are already living together or not, and how much you already have in the way of “essentials” between you, your list might not be for the basic stuff like sheets, towels, pots and pans etc. You can do this formally at certain stores where you pick out the exact items you would like, (usually across a range of prices) or you might just make your own list and have a family member be the contact person for guests who would like s ..read more

Start Dance Lessons for First Dance - not many couples can put on a floorshow for their first dance, and most feel a bit intimidated - so why not head this off at the pass and take a few dance lessons. They can be private lessons if you are shy and some dance studios will customised choreography just for you and your wedding song. Some people even include their bridal party in these lessons so they can all get on the dance floor and wow the crowd! Research Wedding Invitations and other Stationary Suites, which can include things like RSVP Cards & Envelopes, Details Card, Place Cards, Menu ..read more

MAY 13, 2023 Shannen & Jack Brookleigh Estate Wedding What a hectic, but EXCELLENT day, we had with Shannen and Jack as they finally became newlyweds in their uniquely themed Gothic Celestial Wedding! This couple thrive on being chilled, laid back and relaxed and let nothing really phase them! Shannen tells me she is not at all keen on being touchy-feely, or having lots of people around, and her favourite phrase is “CRINGE!” So as Queen for the day - you have got to give her credit!! A very unique and fun couple! A lot of the elements of their wedding were DIY by the bridal couple (fami ..read more

Nov 12, 2022 Josie and Chris Mardella Meadows Wedding This lovely couple have literally been through fire and flood in their journey to become husband and wife. Josie had waited so long for Chris to propose and she had very definite ideas about how she wanted her wedding to be, and the kind of photography and videography she wanted to capture it. She told me “I’m only doing this once so I want it all!” She first saw us at a wedding expo and loved what she saw in our Wall Art and Albums, but we were busy chatting to other people, so she looped around to other stalls and came back to our exhibi ..read more

Time to Say YES TO THE DRESS!!! If you are having a civil ceremony decide on the right Celebrant for your wedding - check their availability and ask if they include a rehearsal (also check that this can be done at the time your wedding will actually happen - this is essential to checking out the lighting for your photography and videography). Ask about the types of ceremonies they offer - can you write your own vows? Do they include things like a signing table, PA system etc. Book the one you feel comfortable with as the person who will marry you. Say YES to the DRESS! Start shopping for your ..read more

Nov 5, 2022 Bernadette and Phil Church & Hilton Wedding What an “Epic Day” we had with Bernadette and Phil as they finally became newlyweds! The Bride’s mother, Mary, was their wedding planner who made sure everything was picture perfect! Their day included lots of travel from the Church, to sentimental locations for portraits and onto the Parmelia Hilton for a huge celebration in the Argyle Ballroom that ran well into the wee hours of the morning. Surrounded by the love of family and friends who travelled far and wide to be there they made a spectacular entrance to indoor fireworks by As ..read more

Should You Wear a Wedding Veil?
West Coast Weddings Blog
by Karen Partridge

So what’s all the fuss about the wedding veil and is it still relevant for today's bride? The veil dates way back to when bride’s were untouched, pristine, virginal maidens being wrapped up, with their faces hidden and delivered for “arranged”marriages. The veil also was thought to hide and protect her from any evil spirits that might try to cause her harm or unhappiness. Today the veil is the oldest and ultimate wedding dress accessory and may or may not have a “blusher” veil that hides the face. Veils are usually made of tulle (course open weave through to silky fineness), but can also be ..read more
