Receiving a letter from Jed and Kaitlyn was a bit of a surprise. Not only I wasn’t expecting it, but it also lay hidden among bills and bank statements for a few days. Google and Facebook reviews of my wedding photography business are obviously very important and I managed to collect quite a few. However, it is quite rare these days to put a pen to paper and write a glowing testimonial like this. This one is definitely going to my Testimonials section haha ..read more

Intimate Rottnest Island Elopement / Ash and Troy

One of the perks of winter elopements (or weddings) in Perth is tranquillity. Rottnest Island was wonderfully empty, it felt like we had the entire place to ourselves. Even the Quokkas seemed more chill... Ash and Troy planned a proper-modern elopement: no one knew it was happening and there were only 5 essential people present: Troy and Ash, Myself the photographer, Kate the celebrant and Gary the electric car driver. Why essential you might ask :) Well, to get legally married you will need 2 people wanting to get married, 2 witnesses and the celebrant. Being a part of this elopement was tru ..read more

Mario and Emma and their Mandoon Estate Wedding Sometimes I feel like I captured "The Perfect Wedding". The venue is beautiful, couple madly in love and not shy about showing it, every part of the wedding day has got stand-out wedding photos. Mandoon Estate has been a lucky venue for me so far. My second wedding there and I'm so happy with the images I captured. My original thought was just to re-tell the story behind some of the photos but it would take magic and mystery away from some of them. So, it's just pictures and a bit of magic and mystery ..read more

Modern Chinese Wedding at Mandoon Estate / Chloe and Max

Chloe and Max picked Mandoon Estate as their wedding venue but COMO the Treasury features here prominently as well. The wedding was a great combination of modern and traditional; quiet romance and pure fun; shadows and light. I really like photographing at COMO as place offers unique architecture and light/shadows. The place is quiet, elegant and soft and so are the photos we captured after the First Look. Some happy tears were shed. Mandoon Estate is all about being close to the nature. Ceremony right by the river; among the trees. Massive windows make you feel like the reception is happenin ..read more

Backyard wedding it was, but full of chic and style :) In a new house in the heart of Fremantle. New house for the new family and a new start. Big, bright and just right. There's a metaphor lurking there, wink, wink, nudge, nudge. Leslie and Simon got married only a few days after moving in and their kids were the bridal party. Everything about this day was quite different to what I normally shoot, it was refreshing. And Leslie and Simon? Crazy in love. And check out Fenella Peacock Food, the food she put on that table was bloody fantastic. Hands down the best grazing table I’ve seen (and yes ..read more

Madusha and Meheransh combined Indian, Sri Lankan and Australian traditions to create a visual feast that was their wedding. Just look at the colours and highly details outfits. All underscored by beautiful weather, light and locations. I love shooting around the sunset and in places where I can the golden light creatively. Sometimes shadows and dark areas are as important as the light. Scouting locations and experience always help :) I’ve photographed many, many times in Swan Valley and at Sandalford Wines. Anyone who ever got married will tell you how quickly a wedding day goes by. Every mi ..read more

Destination wedding in British Columbia, Canada. My second destination wedding of the year was in Canada in stunning British Columbia. I never imagined my job as a wedding photographer will take me to places like this. I feel very lucky and humbled that someone would fly me to the other side of the world just so I can photograph their day. It was truly a DIY wedding. Candice and her team of helpers crowd-sourced, hustled, borrowed and made almost every single piece of the decorations. Alert Bay is far away from vendors of a big city so it was the only way really. One needs to take 2 ferries an ..read more

The original plan was to have a classic elopement somewhere in Perth Hills but we were in the middle of the pandemic. If you’re somewhere from outside of WA - we had only a couple of lock-downs and life was pretty normal. We just couldn’t travel outside of WA. So in the end, the girls decided to include the closest family. I’m pretty familiar with Perth Hills so I recommended one of my secret spots where I photographed and hiked quite a lot: Whistlepipe Gully. It’s a quiet and a little known place, full of flowers in the spring with amazing sunsets. Simple plans have a tendency to work out pe ..read more

It seems everyone is an Award Winning Wedding Photographer these days :) All you need to do is a quick Google Search for “Perth award-winning wedding photographers’ and bam … pages of Award Winning Photographers. This is one of the reasons I’ve been hesitant to say it about myself or my work… Because does it matter? Does anyone care? Yesterday I got some very exciting news and it made me think again about wedding photography contests and awards in general. Well, it turns out, one of my pre-wedding photos was one of the highest-scoring photos in that category in the 2020 International Wedding P ..read more

2019 Review

2019 Review My favorite images of the year This is the first time I’m doing one of these end of the year posts. I always found them a little cliche until I decided to do one. Turns out it forced me to look back at what I’ve done, who I photographed and how my work changed in the past year. 2019 turned out to be pretty busy. I photographed 49 weddings and pre weddings. Some people I photographed twice, some people’s weddings I photographed twice :) I’ve had 8 overseas couples coming to Perth for holiday and a bit of pre wedding fun. I tried counting photos I’ve taken but it proved hard. My Lig ..read more
