Kentucky is fresh off a 22-point win vs. No. 8 Miami at Rupp Arena, where Sheppard delivered another impressive performance that had college basketball buzzing about the freshman star.

Kentucky freshman guard Reed Sheppard has looked like the best player on the floor for Kentucky this season.
Sheppard poured in a game-high 21 points in Tuesday’s 95-73 win vs. Miami at Rupp Arena. The London, Kentucky, native knocked down 8-of-13 shots, including 5-of-9 from three-point range.

Reed Sheppard delivered another special performance for Kentucky, this time against the No. 8 team in the country.
Kentucky cruised to a 95-73 win vs. Miami at Rupp Arena Tuesday night, improving to 6-1 on the season while picking up what will be a Quadrant 1 victory.
Sheppard led the Wildcats with 21 points on 8-of-13-shooting, including 5-of-9 from three-point range.

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky men’s basketball freshman guard D.J. Wagner enjoyed a breakout week en route to a pair of victories for the Wildcats and Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week accolades. Wagner averaged 25.0 points and 5.5 assists per game in an overtime win over Saint Joseph’s and a record-breaking victory over Marshall.

After a wild 24 hours in Lexington, Mark Stoops will be the head coach at Kentucky next season.
Stoops and the Wildcats finished the regular season with a 38-31 win vs. No. 10 Louisville Saturday, improving to 7-5 on the season. But the story of the day and evening centered around Stoops’ future in Lexington.
The UK coach released a statement early Sunday that he will be the head coach in Lexington next season. Mitch Barnhart followed that with a statement about Stoops Sunday morning.

Matt Jones of Kentucky Sports Radio reported the news early Sunday morning that Stoops will be the head coach at Kentucky next season. Pete Thamel confirmed the report a few minutes later.
Late Saturday night, Mark Passwaters of AggieYell.com reported that Stoops was likely to be the next head coach in College Station, barring a last-minute collapse. That last-minute collapse appears to have happened.
