The 2021 Notre Dame football season is over, and boy what a season it was. There were extreme highs and some very bad lows. It was anything but dull, and one that I will always remember. From MVP to best play of the year and everything in between, here are my picks. MVP: Kyren Williams RB – 1,002 Rush Yards, 14 TDs. 359 receiving yards, 3 TDs. Hard to imagine what this season would look like without Williams, as he was the heart and soul of this Notre Dame team. There were games where Williams put the team on his back and carried the Irish to victory. Many even picked Williams as the best Runn ..read more

The Good, the Bad & the Ugly from Notre Dame’s Fiesta Bowl Loss

The Good: Jack Coan – QB & Lorenzo Styles – WR – From a QB playing his last college football game to a true freshman playing in his first bowl game, both Coan and Styles had career games. Coan threw the ball 68 (!) times for 509 yards and 5 touchdowns. Styles caught 8 passes for 136 yards and 1 touchdown, but could have and should have had more. Yes the game ended in disappointment, but these two guys left it all on the field. Notre Dame takes on Marshall for the first time ever on Saturday in South Bend. The Fighting Irish look to bounce back after a week one loss to Ohio State. In his first home game, head coach Marcus Freeman is also looking for his first head coaching win. Marshall might not be a big-time matchup but there are still a lot of storylines going into Saturday’s game. There’s no place like Notre Dame#GoIrish pic.twitter.com/PmtdKC76AK — Notre Dame Football (@NDFootball) September 8, 2022 Last Saturday, we saw the Irish hang around with one of the best teams in the country. After a very uneventful off season, we finally have Notre Dame Fighting Irish football back! The Marcus Freeman era at Notre Dame begins under the lights in the Horse Shoe as the Irish take on The Ohio State Buckeyes. A first time head coach playing a top 5 team on the road is one hell of a way to kick things off. ??’? ??????? Storylines? Oh, There are Lots of Storylines Heading into the Fiesta Bowl

Notre Dame played Stanford a little over a month ago. That month has felt like a lifetime for Notre Dame fans everywhere. Since that last game of the season, Notre Dame has lost its all-time winningest coach, replaced him and still almost made the playoffs. The Fighting Irish were the first team out of the playoffs, which landed them in a New Years Six Bowl Game. Not bad for a team that, coming into the season, was considered in a “rebuilding” year. Notre Dame will face Oklahoma State on January 1st in the Fiesta Bowl. There are just a few storylines, so let’s get into them. The biggest one is ..read more

Every year college football teams going into a transition phase after the season. Players graduate, some leave early for the NFL and others elect to come back for a final year of eligibility. In the current college football landscape, you also add the Wild West that is the transfer portal. Rules have changed to benefit the student athlete when it comes to transferring. Notre Dame Blows Out Georgia Tech, Sends Seniors Out in Style

Notre Dame put together a near perfect game on Saturday vs Georgia Tech and sent the Seniors out in style. It was an all-around flawless game from a Notre Dame team that was full of flaws at the start of the season. The best part of Saturday was sending out the Seniors with another win at Notre Dame Stadium. Looking at the final score of 55 to ZERO, you would think that there would be some record-setting individual performances; however, that was not the case on Saturday. Everyone from the starters to walk-ons got in on the action and produced. It was one of the more memorable Notre Dame games ..read more

Notre Dame Takes on Oklahoma State in the Fiesta Bowl, Looks to End New Years Six Bowl Game Drought

Marcus Freeman is taking over for the winningest head coach in Notre Dame history, and his first game is the Fiesta Bowl against a very good Oklahoma State team. This is a tall task for any coach, let alone what Marcus Freeman is stepping into, but I think this team is fired up to play for Freeman and to send the seniors off on the right foot. From day one, Freeman did not want to look to the future, with his focus on the Fiesta Bowl and Oklahoma State. If Notre Dame is going to end its 9 New Years Six/BCS game losing streak on Saturday, these 3 players and one position will be the reason why ..read more

Irish Goodbye, Brian Kelly off to LSU.

I was about to write a game recap for the Stanford game, but some other news from South Bend trumped that. Sources: LSU is expecting to hire Notre Dame’s Brian Kelly as the school’s next head coach. An announcement could come as early as tomorrow. — Pete Thamel (@PeteThamel) November 30, 2021 Yup. That tweet isn’t fake. From what it sounds like, Brian Kelly is heading to LSU. He’s leaving as the winningest coach in Notre Dame history, with a team that still has a great shot at reaching the playoffs this year. I have two guesses as to why he would leave. First (and big one), money talks. He ..read more

Defense Shines as Notre Dame Aces Last Big Test of the Season

This blog will be a short one because I was out of the country and was unable to watch the game. With that said, I would like to thank Notre Dame for not making this game a close one that I had to worry about missing. I watched a ton of highlights and looked over the box score and it’s safe to say Notre Dame played one hell of a game Saturday night vs Virginia. road W#GoIrish pic.twitter.com/avmektAcph — Notre Dame Football (@NDFootball) November 14, 2021 This was the last big test for Notre Dame of the 2021 football regular season.
