Notre Dame Football has had a very productive Spring practice session thus far. The team has a really solid staff and a great blend of veteran & young exciting players to work with. Much of their plan has come together nicely, especially on the defensive side of the ball where Al Golden is trying to take his unit from really strong to elite. While acknowledging all of the progress and advancement, there are some things that the Irish have not been able to work on that will put some extra pressure on the program in August when the team reconvenes to prepare for the season. Let’s take a loo ..read more

Fighting Irish Wire
by Nick Shepkowski

Over the years there have been plenty of foes who Notre Dame could not get the number of.  With the news that USC great Reggie Bush got his Heisman Trophy back, I thought I’d take a quick look at just how dominant Bush was against the Irish. Years before Kim Kardashian was getting countless plastic surgeries she was dating Reggie Bush. And years before that he was as incredible of college football player as I’ve ever watched. So just how well did Reggie Bush perform against Notre Dame during his three years at USC? Let’s start with USC’s dominance of the Irish during his time ..read more

Despite having only one season at Notre Dame under her belt, Hannah Hidalgo already is a player Irish fans can be proud of. Sure, she was fantastic on the court in her first season and earned several honors for it. But she has been just as impressive off the court, and it’s clear she loves her fans. When one fourth-grader was assigned to write a letter to someone they admire, she chose Hidalgo. While we can’t speak to whether her classmates got responses, we can confirm that Hidalgo sent a package to her admirer, including a personalized autographed card and hoop earrings from the Hannah’s Hoo ..read more

When Micah Shrewsberry took over as Notre Dame coach, he vowed to heavily recruit within Indiana. After all, that’s where he’s from and where Notre Dame is located. He’s done well with that so far with five players from the Hoosier State on this past season’s team, including ACC Rookie of the Year Markus Burton. Shrewsberry isn’t satisfied with his current number of Indiana players though. That’s why this week, he’s hosting visits with three recruits from the state, all of which rank in the top 10 of its 2025 class according to 247Sports. One tweet after another from multiple accounts confirms ..read more

Fighting Irish Wire

At one point in time, it looked like Notre Dame football was going to sign Kansas running back Dylan Edwards. A late flip to Colorado saw one of the nations most electric players leave the Irish’s class and sign with the Buffaloes. His first season was solid as Edwards ran for 321 yards with a touchdown and was a threat receiving with 299 yards and 4 scores. He saw his playing time dwindle as the season progress and then the addition of Ohio State transfer Dallan Hayden pushed Edwards to enter the transfer portal. As of this moment, it’s hard to know if he could consider Notre Dame, but it may ..read more

KK Bransford won't transfer from Notre Dame after all
Fighting Irish Wire

One of Notre Dame’s weaknesses this past season was a lack of depth, though injuries were the main culprit of that. That depth appeared to take it a hit when sophomore guard KK Bransford announced shortly after the season ended that she was entering the transfer portal. Her departure from the Irish turned out to be temporary. During the Irish’s annual awards banquet, Niele Ivey announced that Bransford will return to the program next season. Bransford attended the ceremony with crutches and a boot on her left foot, but Ivey made clear that she simply was recovering from an injury, and it didn ..read more

It was inevitable that Notre Dame football would lose a player to the transfer portal now that spring practices are over. Although it wasn’t immediately following the Blue and Gold game, cornerback Micah Bell went to social media on Tuesday and announced that he will be moving on from the program and entering the transfer portal. The rising sophomore most likely would have been a reserve player this fall, and you have to believe that part of his decision was made due to playing time. As a recruit, Bell was the nations No. 258 overall prospect according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He r ..read more
