The country of the gods. How lucky am I to have a Location Photography Family session in GREECE? Pinch me, please.
Crystal clear water, beautiful sun, and a light salty breeze in the air!
And I am not even talking about the FOOD! Amazing! Fresh fish right from the boat? Yes, you heard me right!
When this fun family of 4 reached out to me and told me their plan to take me with them on this adventure I could not speak but only smile.
"Of course, I will help you document your Family in Greece. What an honor."
I had known them for a while, being their family photographer back in Germany and I was ..read more

With Spring around the corner and my MINI SESSIONS coming up soon, I hear many moms saying "I love the idea of SPRING PICTURES, but what should we wear?!" Valid question. Here are some ideas of what photographs well in the Spring in ATLANTA and what is easy to get in the stores. Some of my favorite stores to shop for Spring Family Photo outfits are Old Navy, Amazon, Boehme, September, Lane Bryant (size 10-40), H&M (for kids). You could also support a local small business and google a local boutique nearby! Book a private appointment for tailored service and a try-on sesh! Dresses for Mom t ..read more

Tricky question in February but I assume you are interested in creating memories with your family and are ready to take your pictures as soon as possible. Let's talk about your options! Mother’s Day will be here before you know it, and if you’re anything like me, you’re already stressing over finding that perfect gift for your mom. But, in all seriousness, who needs another scarf or necklace when you can DIY the most amazing gift that is not only perfect for grandparents but also puts a smile on everyone's face whenever they pass by!!! I call them PERSONALITY PORTRAITS ...and they’re quickly becoming one of my favorite types of sessions.
The thing is… this project requires you to do something crazy. That is, actually print your photos!
(Enter a bit of sarcasm here — because ..read more

When I got Shannon's email in my inbox about her extended family meeting in Atlanta looking for a photo session I was super excited. Not only do I love extended family sessions because of the many stories and the high energy, but this one was special because no one actually lived in Atlanta but they were scattered all over the country. And that is exactly the reason why I think that family photography is sooooo important!
Around 2 months before the session we started planning the outfits and the location. With the family staying at an Air B&B near Piedmont Park in Midtown Atlanta the loca ..read more

Is your business…messy? Is your marketing…clumsy? Is your stress level…reaching atomic levels? It doesn’t have to be that way. Let’s dive head first in this year, and leave our bad business habits in the past!
1. Raise your prices. STAT.
I know you’re looking at that and thinking, “I know, but my area is so oversaturated! If I charge more than $150, no one will book me. I’m struggling to get clients as it is!”
The thing is, if you charge on average $150 for a photography session with no upselling, you would need to have one client a day, Monday through Friday every week of the year, to bring i ..read more

My biggest motivator to become active as a School Photographer in Atlanta was the photos my kids brought home from their school. I could not get them fast enough back to school, so no one would charge me for images where my kids looked like they were in pain and the backdrop was as colorful as the rainbow. How would parents spend money (school pictures are expensive !!!) on something so hideous? But then it hit me: They are collecting memories of their children and that's all they got... My idea of ,FINE ART SCHOOL PICTURES was born. Let me give you all the Benefits of hiring a Professional Ph ..read more

Having the absolute Benefit of living in Sandy Springs (North of Atlanta) with the most amazing Parks and Backdrops I almost always try to stay in the area for my Family Lifestyle Outdoor Photo Sessions. And because there are so many, I reveal my top 3 Family photo spots in Sandy Springs.
When scouting for areas to meet families I always consider 4 categories:
a. Accessibility (enough parking spots, Easy to reach...),
b. Busyness (other park visitors, celebrations...),
c. Background (open field, blooming flowers...), and
d. Placement (Where is the sun going down at a golden hour session...)

As a resident of Sandy Springs for almost 6 years, I know of most parks in my neighborhood, but it was the first time that I had a photo shoot at the Heritage Park. As it was a Saturday evening I was a little worried that a wedding might take place, because it has a stage and an adjacent building that is used as a wedding venue most weekends in the summer. But we got lucky and we had the whole park just for ourselves.
When Jade arrived I was already waiting for 30 minutes. I wasn't happy and already sweaty, but people know me as a very patient person (helloooo, I work mainly with toddlers ..read more

What should be included in my senior session?
Sports Jerseys from your varsity team or your letterman’s jacket. You worked hard to make it to Varsity sports, first chair band, captain of the chess team, high-school academic All-American, etc. Showcase your talents by highlighting you in your gear. It’s a great way to show your spirit, personality, pride, and accomplishments.
Musical instruments. I love music. Bring your ukulele, electric guitar, acoustic bass, marching band drum, trumpet, clarinet, or bassoon. I don’t care what you bring as long as we can capture you in your musical glory.
