The Douglas church that was serving as a temporary shelter for migrants is no longer housing those dropped of in the city. The city instead has opened one of its facilities to those who need a place to go. A section of the Douglas visitor center is now being used as a rest area for migrants. The church, that has been hosting migrants since last fall, needed their parish hall back. TEP refunding $9.5 million to customers in over-collected fees

Tucson Electric Power says it plans to refund customers $9.5 million dollars in over-collected fees. According to a decision filed by TEP with the Arizona Corporation Commission, the refund period could span 1-month, 2-months, or even 12-months. Under this proposal, TEP would apply credits to residential customers based on usage, measured by kilowatt-hours. Margaree Little has been a writing instructor at the University of Arizona since 2021. She teaches English courses to about 200 Freshman a year. During her time at the university she said shes been concerned about layoffs. Instructors in the writing program have been systemically devalued, Little said. Tucson Greyhound Park caught fire early Saturday morning, leaving a large portion of the building completely destroyed. The fire started around 3 a.m. Saturday morning. Crews from South Tucson Fire Department and Tucson Fire Department responded. Teachers started their day like normal and had no idea they were getting excused from school for a catered lunch from Outback Steakhouse at the Hilton in the East side.
