ROVIDENCE, R.I. – A North Smithfield man has been sentenced in Providence County Superior Court to serve six years at the Adult Correctional Institutions for possession of 15 ghost guns and dozens of large capacity magazines in his Slatersville home. On May 2, during a hearing before Superior Court Justice Kristin Rodgers, Elliott Knorr, age 44, was sentenced to 10 years at the Adult Corrections Institution with six years to serve and a four-year suspended sentence with 10 years of probation. BURRILLVILLE – A breeder who has provided comfort dogs to several local police and fire departments has received a commercial kennel license that will allow her to continue working with Labrador Retrievers from a new location in Harrisville. Jocelyn Dame, the owner of Dame Dogs Labradors, LLC was approved to utilize the pre-existing kennel at Pettery Paradise on Barnes Road. GLOCESTER – Wrestlers competing with the Ponaganset High School program continue to dominate the sport, with current and past athletes recognized in recent weeks across the region and beyond. Last year, the Ponaganset team was the first from New England to win the Eastern States Classical, and the first from Rhode Island to earn a top-50 national ranking from MatScouts. Lincoln man arrested in Woonsocket after tossing case of narcotics at N.S. motel, fleeing police

NORTH SMITHFIELD – A Lincoln man is facing felony charges from an incident in December where he threw a case containing a large quantity of narcotics at the Hilltop Motel and escaped into the nearby woods on foot, according to police. Matthew Daignault, 41, was arrested by Woonsocket police on a warrant from North Smithfield in March.
