After not hearing his name called during the first two days of the 2024 NFL Draft, former Cyclone cornerback T.J. Tampa was selected 130th overall by the Baltimore Ravens where he will look to climb the depth chart. Despite entering the draft as one of the top corners, Tampa was the 16th corner to be taken in the draft, and third in the fourth round. Iowa State lost to high-powered No. 1 Texas 5-2 Friday in the first matchup of a three-game series in Austin, Texas. Texas entered the day with a nine-game win streak, including two wins against then-No. 1 Oklahoma. The Cyclones continued their performances in the Drake Relays on Thursday with the women’s heptathlon. To go along with the women’s heptathlon, the Cyclones also had athletes in the women’s 800-meter and the women’s 10,000-meter. In the women’s 10,000-meter, Iowa State senior Dana Feyen won the event with a time of 33:51.54. Regent David Barker pushed back on a regents admission study team report that recommended the Classic Learning Test (CLT) should not be included in calculating regent admission index (RAI) scores of prospective students.  The CLT is a college entrance test accepted by 250 colleges and universities, including six in Iowa. All the schools in Iowa accepting it for admission are religiously affiliated. Iowa State enters a three-game series against SEC-bound, No. 1-ranked Texas on Friday, Saturday and Sunday for its last out-of-state trip of the season.
