Joe Bonsall, who retired from The Oak Ridge Boys after 50 years in January due to a neuromuscular disorder, has died, his management team announced on Tuesday. Joseph S. Bonsall (76) of Hendersonville, Tennessee passed on July 9, 2024, from complications of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. He leaves behind his wife, Mary Ann, daughters Jennifer and Sabrina, granddaughter Breanne, grandson Luke, two great grandsons, Chance and Grey, and a sister, Nancy. Some of you may remember that one year ago I took a leave of absence from teaching line dance for two reasons: to spend more time with my grandson and I needed a break from my classes. Raul Malo, lead singer of The Mavericks, shared that he’s been diagnosed with cancer. In both a statement to Rolling Stone and in a video message on Instagram, Malo, 58, said doctors discovered some “cancerous spots in my digestive system” after undergoing a physical, colonoscopy, and catscan. “Obviously, this isn’t the news I was hoping to get, or to share with you all.
