Previously: I’m in Le Touquet with Pam my lodger. We’re just good friends but decided to go on a road trip to avoid mal Evolent my other (not so pleasant) lodger. Since leaving, the police attempted to arrest Mal for cybercrime. He got away, setting off an explosion in his room, in MY HOUSE, in the process. Now I’m concerned that the police may think I’m involved in cybercrime something I’m totally innocent of. So, for the moment we’re on this road trip and not returning to the UK.
Having just got up, I was tucking into my cornflakes when Pam said,
“Oliver I’ve got to say you’re looking ..read more

Previously: We spent a couple of days in Ghent, Belgium and Pam attempted to get me to appreciate art (in vain). However, I did appreciate the wine in the art gallery café though but the associated Dutch courage led me to write a blunt postcard to Mal Evolent (my ‘challenging’ lodger) hoping to get him to move out. However, the next day, when I was hosting a blinding headache and my more familiar cautious nature, I thought better of sending it. Too late, Pam had posted it….
“You posted it Pam?” I questioned.
“Well, that was the idea.”
“Yes, it was the idea after the wine, when I was feeling in ..read more

;Previously: We had an awesome time in Amsterdam and decided to sleep off the coffee on a park bench, if that makes sense. It doesn’t to me. I’ve never had coffee like that. Anyway, we are where we are and unfortunately, we don’t know where we are and more importantly, we don’t know where we left the campervan.
As we couldn’t recall a single landmark near the campervan, we decided to backtrack our route. Pam spotted somewhere familiar.
“Look there’s the crossing where you threw yourself in front of a bicycle and there’s the park bench. You can still see where you drooled whilst sleeping off th ..read more

Previously: Circumstances forced Pam (one of my lodgers) and myself on a European trip in my campervan. It was all to avoid my other disturbing lodger, Mal Evolent. That reads like Pam is disturbing. She’s isn’t, merely challenging. Anyway, we caught the ferry and are now in Zeebrugge. On landing, a customs officer descended on us looking a bit serious, for some reason and waved us to drive into a kind of car port. We exited the van and walked over to the counter. Officers entered the van and the serious one asked Pam to empty her bag. Pam seemed strangely concerned about this.
Pam proceeded t ..read more

Previously: In my panic to get away from the disturbing ‘Camp Horated’ I guess I drove without due care and attention or recklessly (however the police put it) or like an idiot, as Pam put it. Fair comment. Anyway, as a result, two walkers got some cuts and grazes in Scotland and unbelievably they turned up at the same garage in Barnsley and recognised my campervan. Consequently, we find ourselves hiding behind a shelf in a garage in Barnsley (as you do).
Curiosity got the better of me so I took out my phone and checked how far we had come from Scotland and informed Pam;
“We’re two hundred and ..read more

Previously: We’ve just escaped from our traumatic stay on a campsite ‘Camp Horated’ and now have a new predicament. Pam still doesn’t want to return home and face Mal Evolent, my sinister lodger. I’d like to support her rather than see her homeless. For one thing, it’s not easy to find a replacement lodger and she does pay the rent. It’s difficult to know what to do about it and now I stupidly said that I have a plan. I don’t.
“OK, let’s hear your plan Oliver” Pam asked.
“Well, let me think how to put it” I stuttered, attempting to buy time to come up with something.
“Err …. It’s like this” I ..read more

Oliver is (a fictional) technically gifted but highly socially challenged and a little unconventional. He lives in a curious world with bizarre housemates and encounters people who are uniquely challenging. His whole life is a little odd. He’s like a square peg in a black hole. Once, Oliver completed a personality test which found him to be entirely left brain dominant. The tutor was concerned that he may be so socially unaware that he may be oblivious to everyone else i ..read more

Previously: Following a disagreement with Mal Evolent (who rents a room in my house), my Campervan had a mysterious flat tyre which Pam (my other lodger) was convinced as Mal’s doing (OS024) . We left on a road trip, mainly because Pam refused to go into the house again risking meeting Mal (OS025). Tired of driving we pulled into ‘Camp Horated (OS026) for the night where we met Warden Den and Assistant Ant and two friendly dogs. Unfortunately, Assistant Ant told us that ‘Warden Den’s dog Dawn dunna runna’. After joining in the search, we returned to the camper to see a scrappy handwritte ..read more

Previously: My campervan had a flat tyre. Pam was convinced that Mal Evolent was involved. We left on a road trip, mainly because Pam refused to go into the house again risking meeting Mal. Unable to park at Loch Smith, we pulled into a nearly campsite only to be confronted by a menacing figure.
The huge shape of a man or beast standing menacingly in the doorway of a ramshackle hut; his bulky frame backlit by a blazing fire with ferocious sounding dogs barking in the background. We were, to say the least, a little apprehensive, speechless, ready to bolt to the relative safety of the camper. Ho ..read more
