Fire Chief Paul Parisi reports that the Ipswich Fire Department extinguished a brush fire near a home on Wednesday afternoon.
On Wednesday, July 3, at approximately 4:41 p.m., the Ipswich Fire Department was called to the area of 19 James Road, near Dix Road and the Ipswich Country Club, for a report of a brush fire.
Engine 4, under the command of Lt. Gus McInnis, was the first company to arrive and found an approximately 75-foot-by-75-foot section of brush burning near a home.

Possession or Use of Fireworks is Illegal in Massachusetts
Police Chief Paul Nikas and Fire Chief Paul Parisi, along with the Ipswich Police and Fire Departments, wish to share several important safety tips and reminders as residents prepare to celebrate the Fourth of July holiday.
According to the state Department of Fire Services and State Police, Massachusetts fire departments reported nearly 1,000 fires related to illegal fireworks between 2013 and 2022. The Ipswich Police and Fire Departments wish to share tips for residents to stay safe, cool, and healthy with severe heat expected in the coming days.
The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory valid from noon on Tuesday, June 18, to 7 p.m. on Friday, June 21. During this time, heat index values are expected to climb as high as 104 degrees. In Massachusetts, temperatures may reach a high of 96 degrees during the day, with not much relief during the overnight hours, as heat indexes are only expected to drop into the 70s.

IPSWICH — Fire Chief Paul Parisi reports that the Ipswich Fire Department extinguished a working fire in a commercial building on Mitchell Road.
On Wednesday, June 12, at about 11:14 a.m., the Ipswich Fire Department received a commercial fire alarm activation at D&D Manufacturing, 49 Mitchell Road.

IPSWICH — Fire Chief Paul Parisi reports that the Ipswich Fire Department responded to and successfully assisted in the rescue of a horse that had fallen through a stable floor.
On Monday, June 3 at approximately 9:27 a.m. Ipswich Fire Engine 2 responded to 383 Linebrook Road for a report of a horse that had fallen. Upon arrival, crews located the 9-year-old mare named Valencourt whose entire hind quarter had fallen through a hole in the floor of its stall and hung suspended above the stable’s lower level.
