Two days ago the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) announced that a passenger’s US$5,500 recovery was recovered. The CJIA’s security division stated in a statement that the traveler reported the stolen cash when she arrived in Guyana on April 18. The Barbados government has hinted at the possibility of negotiating payment for reparations with British owners regarding the Drax Hall plantation, which for centuries had been the scene of inhumane treatment of enslaved Africans.
