MIAMI, Florida, CMC – Caribbean Football Union (CFU) powerhouses Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago will renew their long-standing rivalry in a spicy Concacaf Nations League match-up after they were drawn in Group “B” of the top division, League “A” for the 2024-25 tournament.

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC—Organisers of the ICC Men’s Twenty20 World Cup in the Caribbean and the United States said they were on alert, and national security agencies were taking all the necessary steps to ensure the event went smoothly.

NASSAU, Bahamas, Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, and hosts The Bahamas were the only Caribbean nations that could book teams into the Olympics this July-August in Paris, France, from the World Athletics Relays, which ended on Sunday.

KINGSTON, Jamaica, CMC – The Jamaica government has assured that all the passengers and crew on board an aircraft that landed here last Thursday are due to leave the island on Tuesday.
The German-registered aircraft with 253 passengers, mainly Indian nationals and crew members, has now been given the requisite approvals for operation from the Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority.

CASTRIES, St. Lucia, CMC—The Judicial and Legal Services Commission has appointed Justice Mario Michel as the Chief Justice of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court (ECSC).
Michel, a St. Lucian-national with a distinguished legal career, will be in the position until September 4, this year. He follows in the footsteps of the late Sir Allan Lewis and Vincent Floissac, becoming the third St. Lucian to hold the position of Chief Justice of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court.

SANTIAGO, Chile, CMC – Tax revenue rose as a share of gross domestic product (GDP) on average across Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) countries between 2021 and 2022 due partly to a sharp increase in revenue from the oil and gas sector.

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – National Security Minister Fitzgerald Hinds Tuesday acknowledged that Trinidad and Tobago, like other countries in the Caribbean, is facing a crime problem. WASHINGTON, CMC – In a significant move, the Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), Todd D. Robinson, is embarking on a visit to three Caribbean Community (CARICOM) countries this week, as reported by the United States Department of State.
