Hi Foodies, Hope you all had a lovely week. Another weekend, another post on food. Over the years, we’ve tried so many Indian restaurants both in Adelaide and Canberra, ranging from the down-the-road type of humble Indian curry eateries to the high-ends. However, the one I am going to include for today’s post is quite unique in many aspects, the Indian Dining Club. The Indian Dining Club is located in the Belconnen Town Centre alongside the foreshore area of Lake Ginninderra. Open in late 2022, the restaurant soon became one of the central meeting places for the local Indian community, whethe ..read more

Hi foodies, How have you been lately? Five years after relocating to Canberra, I must admit that we are still on the journey to discover the city’s food scene. The capital is a small but diverse place with a wide range of food options across all regions, from high-quality fine dining to casual food options, satisfying all cravings for good food. Korean fried chicken, one of my favourable dishes from the cuisine, appears in many venues and joints in the capital. Some long-term readers may recall I made Korean-style fried chicken many years ago when in Adelaide. When a review opportunity came up ..read more

Hi foodies, It has been a while (almost a year) since my last article post – I know. Reflecting on 2022, it has been a big year for Tina and I but I am so glad it is over and we are back on the right track again. Up until recently, I started exploring the Canberra food scene again. After 15 years of blogging and food reviews, my passion now really lies with the produce itself and the good food and wine pairing. Perhaps that is a ‘standard’ of growing (getting) up (old) – I start to understand ‘life is too short to eat bad food’. Tina and I visited Bar Rochford last week again in Canberra city ..read more

Hi foodies, The Meat & Wine Co has opened its door in Canberra in April 2021. The multi-chained steakhouse, being famous in their dry-aged steaks, offers a different experience to many counterparts in the country. Tina and I recently attended the venue for her birthday and enjoyed the warm hospitality. Located in the recently constructed Constitution Place complex, which is mainly occupied by the ACT Government offices, the Meat & Wine Co is an interesting new addition to the Canberra dining scene, with its usual chic decroation and luxurious-alike lounge dining area. With the o ..read more

Hey foodies, Where do you normally go for an enjoyable weekend? For me, I go to various markets to browse over things and eat lots of good local food. With so many markets in the bustling capital, there must be something that would suit your needs. Late last year, Dairy Road Markets re-opened its doors after a long closure during the COVID lockdown. Opened in December 2020, this market was a joint force of three of the Canberra’s big event joints, The Forage, Cellar Door and the Suitcase Rummage. Dairy Road Markets As the name suggests, Dairy Road Markets is located 1 Dairy Road Fyshwick, Canb ..read more

Happy lunar new year foodies and welcome to the year of Tiger. The tiger in Asian cultures embodies courage and bravery, so the new year symbolises resilience and strength. This is even more important during the pandemic – a time that many people struggles. The 2022 tiger is a water tiger which has a strong moral compass with open mind. This means the year can encourage us to take charge of our lives and to live well with COVID-19. 2022 is my fourth year since Tina and I moved from Adelaide to Canberra for work. During these four years, many things have changed but one thing remained the same ..read more

Hey Foodies, I am sure we are all experiencing it – yes Canberra is in its latest lockdown. To the current speed of vaccination, I am sure we will be able to get to the other end together. During lockdown, our lives are pretty routine. Except buying groceries, I hardly step outside my courtyard. However, locking down does not mean no good food or good wine. By the way, they are good for your mental health right? Many restaurants or cafes started their takeaway joint since the start of the lockdown. Table by Canberra Gourmet in Wanniassa who I wrote and raved about previously is now open as Gr ..read more
