For a variety of different reasons, the Colorado Buffaloes football program has watched over 40 players enter the transfer portal this offseason, including big names such as running back Dylan Edwards, cornerback Cormani McClain and offensive tackle Savion Washington. In a move reminiscent of the Colorado women’s basketball team adding Maddie Nolan last offseason, the Buffs announced the addition of Washington State Cougars veteran transfer guard Johanna Teder on Thursday. A 5-foot-8 graduate student out of Estonia, Teder spent the 2023-24 season recovering from injuries. Before that lost season, Teder was a mainstay in the Cougars’ rotation for three seasons, playing in and starting 86 games while boasting career averages of 8.4 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. About one week ago, EA Sports revealed the deluxe edition cover for College Football 25, and Colorado’s own Travis Hunter was featured prominently alongside other notable players. Hyping up a July 19 release date, EA Sports released the standard edition cover on Thursday, and the Buffs’ two-way star was once again included. Former Colorado football linebacker Marvin Ham II announced his commitment to the Sun Belt Conference’s Arkansas State Red Wolves on Thursday. Ham played under four head coaches — Mel Tucker, Karl Dorrell, interim Mike Sanford and Deion Sanders — in five years at Colorado before entering the transfer portal in November. After spending five seasons in Pennsylvania playing for the Villanova Wildcats, offensive tackle Wyatt Hummel decided to transfer to where he always knew he would end up: Colorado. Hummel, an experienced lineman who excelled as a pass-blocker during his time with the Wildcats, announced in late April his intentions to join the Buffaloes. All three have since moved on, but head coach JR Payne has rebounded nicely by adding three impact transfers: Jade Masogayo, JoJo Nworie and Nyamier Diew. Coach Prime stood at No. 55 in last year’s ranking but following a four-win first season leading the Buffs, he fell six spots to No. 61.
