Racegoers are in for a treat this Wednesday as a dozen declarations for the Al Shira’aa Racing Irish EBF Naas Oaks Trial will see the biggest field contest the race since it was first run in 2012, while there will be some international flavour with three-time Kentucky Derby winning jockey John Velazquez also in action at the track.
Wednesday’s feature race has attracted British representation for the first time with Billy Lee booked to ride the Ralph Beckett-trained Seaward who most recently contested the English Oaks at Epsom.

The Directors of Naas Racecourse have announced the appointment of Aidan McGarry as General Manager of Naas Racecourse commencing on June 20th.
Aidan joins Naas after three years managing Navan Racecourse where he oversaw the introduction of the inaugural Navan Racing Festival in 2023. Prior to his time at Navan Racecourse, Aidan held roles in Horse Racing Ireland and Irish Thoroughbred Marketing including the position of Owner Relations Manager, the first dedicated role in the organisation aimed at growing and retaining racehorse owners in Ireland.

School children from Killashee Multi-Denominational National School, Scoil Bhríde and Scoil an Linbh Iosa took part in a special Horse Racing Ireland (HRI) Racing Juniors education day at Naas Racecourse on Wednesday May 8 as the County Kildare racecourse gears up for their three family fun days – Saturday May 11, Saturday July 6 and Sunday August 25.
