On Friday, November 10th, 2023, the Texas House Select Committee granted approval to House Bill 1 with a 10-4 vote. This noteworthy legislation advocates for the creation of an Education Savings Account (ESA) program, designed to enhance flexibility for families and enable parents to allocate educational funds according to their preferences. Pathbreaking Report Finds Charter Schools Provide Better ROI
WASHINGTON, DC – A new study finds that “charter schools tend to demonstrate greater efficiency on both metrics of cost-effectiveness and return on investment, using fewer dollars to achieve better outcomes, relative to traditional public schools.”

Conservative activists for parental rights in education were dealt several high-profile losses in state and school board elections on Tuesday.
The results suggest limits to what Republicans have hoped would be a potent issue for them leading into the 2024 presidential race — how public schools address gender, sexuality and race.

The battle for Texas Independence was supposed to be a lost cause, and the majority urged concessions lest they all perish. Davy Crocket and his disheveled and outnumbered defenders of 200 would overtake five times their number, however. Residents of the Lone Star state would do well to remember the Alamo during the current Texas Legislative special session on education freedom.
