Happy January (am I the first to ever say that?) FINALLY it's a new year, 2023 was a was a strange and tough one here in the now-reopened entertainment capital... not much more to say about that but onward we go - HELLO '24, it's nice to be here. In that spirit, I'm excited to share not one but TWO new remodel projects we just photographed. Coincidentally both were in Pasadena, and both were updates of beautiful older homes with incredible bones and energy - feel-good spaces that have character and feel cozy the second you walk in, like the feeling you get when you put on the perfect pair of j ..read more

At a time when the world doesn't seem well, with a daily onslaught of grim headlines affecting our health, relationships and productivity, it's worth remembering that our physical environments can put us in a more positive place. The modern study of this phenomenon is known as Environmental Psychology, but of course it's a field as old as human civilization itself. From Chinese Feng Shui to Indian Vastu, Japanese Wabi Sabi, and Danish Hygge, all cultures have recognized the very real effect of design, architecture and art on our well-being. ,(Read our blog post on the difference between some o ..read more

Hello friend -- We are officially in FALL - and very excited about a handful of projects that are ready for their close-ups with our incredibly talented photographer Noah Webb. October and November will be very busy indeed. I am thrilled to reveal our latest completed project, which we're calling Elevated in Hancock Park. Our clients bought their dream home in the historic neighborhood of Hancock Park, Los Angeles. They have three children under the age of five, and therefore lead incredibly busy lives. They wanted rooms they could be proud to be in, rooms that felt grown-up but not too fussy ..read more

Happy almost official summer! Excited to share with you a very special project in Tribeca, Manhattan, that we recently photographed. (I'm not going to say completed, since homes and furnishings tend to evolve with their owners' lives.) This was a work in progress for over three years, partly because of the pandemic, and partly because of the attention and consideration given to every single design aspect - from the paint colors to the fabric selections, the wood tones, and the scale and placement of every single item. Our client loves design, which resulted in many long, colorful, in-depth dis ..read more

SUMMER begins this weekend officially – a colorful time of year- all those flowers - and also one of the busiest time for many interior designers.  It’s that REFRESH MY SPACE moment. Sure, you can add some new throw pillows into the mix (new pillows are NEVER a bad idea) but if you REALLY want to update a space  – it’s all about thinking about your walls… particularly the paint color. That much might be obvious, but what’s not obvious is the type of paint you buy. We relate to this ,New Yorker article - it addresses the high anxiety levels people get about choosing the right paint c ..read more

This year more than ever, we appreciate EARTH and our homes. We have always loved sustainability and all types of innovative design that incorporates reusing or recycling. When it comes to using sustainable pieces in our design, it not only makes us happy knowing that we’re protecting the environment but it means we can work with and promote like minded, forward-thinking vendors. Here are a list of some of our favorite vendors who are kicking butt on the sustainability front: 1. Armadillo Armadillo, started by two amazing Australian women, produces beautiful rugs that stand the test of time. E ..read more

Hello and happy almost spring! After what feels like an eternity, we are SUPER DUPER excited to be shooting and sharing our work again. Today's featured project is the residence of a young LA power couple who bought their "forever home" in one of the city's oldest, grandest neighborhoods - Hancock Park's Windsor Square - during the early days of the pandemic. When they called us, the very first thing they said was that they would have ZERO use for a traditional living room. After all, the living room is often the least used space in a home, with everyone gravitating instead to the more relaxed ..read more

It's hard to believe that the days of socializing without too much of a worry are here. At the studio we've been busier than ever, with really fun projects that we can't wait to share, including a to-die-for Amagansett summer home in the Hamptons. The best part of being a designer in Los Angeles is definitely what we call the "Never Know Factor" - whether it's the style home, location (within LA or out of state) or type of clients. In the past 18 months, we've worked on the most traditional of homes, from a Hancock Park Art Deco to a traditional Windsor Square with a twist (we turned the forma ..read more
