It feels like there’s still a ways to go before the market gets its confidence back — which could well manifest itself in a sideways snooze fest for the next week or so.

Alright, time for a much belated bi-weekly (ish) check in with Bitcoin and the broader crypto market.
Bitcoin sold off between Wednesday night, dipping as low as $62.8k on Thursday morning, after a bunch of long positions got liquidated.
Translation: once Bitcoin started falling, a bunch of BTC holdings that were bought using borrowed money were automatically sold off to cover each account’s losses.

The team behind Runes built in a way to programmatically reduce the minimum required number of letters by one character every 17,500 blocks, to prevent name squatting.
Full Story
Is Runes the most interesting and well thought out innovation since the creation of Bitcoin itself?
It just might well be!
We’ve already written about the Rune protocol here and here - and today we’re back to explain why so many of the names of Runes projects are so long and weird.
A quick scroll through Runes on Magic Eden shows names like: DOG•GO•TO•THE•MOON, Z•Z•Z•Z•Z•FEHU•Z•Z•Z•Z•Z and even, ALL•YOUR•TIC ..read more

Something cool happened yesterday.
The Injective community voted to approve changes to the INJ 3.0 tokenomics system.
“That doesn’t sound very cool.” - you, probably.
But it is cool (we promise), here’s why:
The proposal plans to make INJ "one of the most deflationary assets in crypto” by making it four times more deflationary over the next two years.
Bitcoin is commonly referred to as 'sound money’ because it has a guaranteed total ..read more

Is it just us or does it feel like Bitcoin is trying to become the new Ethereum?
Yesterday we covered BTC’s adoption of one of ETH’s key features (token creation) — and not 24hrs later, we’re covering another feature yoink.
Stacks, the Bitcoin layer 2, just went through its Nakamoto upgrade, enabling it to process faster transactions and push all settlements to the BTC layer 1.

Meme coins - they’re all the rage this cycle.
But this time it’s a little different.
This time, instead of meme coin projects creating ‘unbelievably exciting’ roadmaps (that have no chance of ever being fulfilled), they seem to be more in the camp of ‘telling it how it is.’
(E.g. Dogwifhat explains that their coin is “Literally a dog wif a hat” — that’s it).
Many meme coins from last cycle, which touted a roadmap that they coul ..read more
