I'm on the road destined for foreign continents with an antipodean desire to explore further afield. I have tried the 9 to 5 for a couple of years, but my feet are too restless, my mind too flighty and my dreams too big, so I am bound for adventure once more. If there is one thing I hope this website inspires in you, it is to travel.

Were there ever a time to visit Santorini it would be off season in the middle of a pandemic. Sleepy and Santorini aren’t words you would have ever heard in the same sentence pre-Covid, but that’s exactly how we found it. The winding backstreets of Oia are all yours to enjoy at any time of day, dining hot spots don’t need to be pre-booked and the roads are entirely traffic-free. We knew this was a unique opportunity and one that needed to be seized. An island that usually receives over 2 million visitors a year, would never be this crowd-free again. If it weren’t for the endless accommodation ..read more

We arrived to Hydra before sunset when the early evening sun paints the world gold. As the ferry neared the island, my first sight was the Hydriot flag blowing above the fortress wall and I knew instantly I would fall for Hydra’s charm. I had almost forgotten how beautiful travelling can be, it had been so long and not something I thought possible in 2020 with a pandemic in full swing. It felt almost surreal to be so close to the ocean, to feel the sun on my skin and to be in a new place where endless possibilities awaited. As we stepped off the ferry and took off our masks, I was convinced Hy ..read more

Increasingly in our day and age, we are looking ahead to the next goal, the next holiday, the next accomplishment, before we’ve even had a chance to celebrate what we’ve just accomplished. Sometimes it does us good to pause for a moment, reflect on the year that has just passed and celebrate all that we’ve accomplished in the last twelve months, because I guarantee there’s a lot to be celebrated. With this in mind and before planning my future travels, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on where I visited in 2019. Thinking back to all of the places I’ve been this past year makes me feel trul ..read more

Israel is full of pinch-me experiences from watching the sunrise over the Negev Desert to floating in the Dead Sea to hiking to hidden oases, it really is a trip of a lifetime. Add to that phenomenal food (Israeli cuisine has to be among my favourites) and year-round sunshine and you have a pretty perfect holiday destination. I recently spent 10 days road-tripping through Israel and Jordan and here are just a few of the most memorable experiences from our time in Israel.
Sunrise hike to Masada
The highlight of our entire trip was hiking to the ancient ruins of Masada fortress ..read more

Beirut is everything you expect it to be with its bullet-hole splattered buildings, telephone wires hanging across streets, chaotic traffic and derelict buildings, but at the same time it is nothing as you expect. The architecture has a French colonial elegance, the locals are incredibly fashionable and the atmosphere is electric and exciting. Located on the Mediterranean, the city offers beautiful views over the coast and has a corniche to stroll along. How can you not love a city with a Corniche?

Of the eleven countries I’ve visited so far this year, Lebanon is my absolute favourite. The atmosphere is exciting, the energy contagious and the people so welcoming. I had more fun in Lebanon in only four nights than I’ve had in months, so what is it about this country that makes it quite so special?
Beautiful Beirut
I didn’t have many expectations of Beirut, I was expecting the buildings to be peppered with bullet holes and the streets to be tangled in telephone wires, but I didn’t anticipate the beauty. Located on the coast, the Corniche offers sweeping views over the sea ..read more

One trip to Italy is never enough – it’s the kind of country that captivates visitors and has you returning time and time again. For me, Italy is a yearly trip – every year I visit a different region and every year I fall deeper in love with the country. One day I’ll live out my dream and tour the country from North to South in a classic convertible, but until that day comes, yearly trips will have to suffice. This time around, San Marino was high on my bucket list, as were the sunflower fields and the Tuscan countryside. Here is the route we took and what we saw along the way.

It’s not difficult to spend a perfect day in Luxembourg with its charming cobblestone streets, fairytale views and historic architecture. Add to that Belgian beer and French cheese and you really cannot go wrong. For a more detailed itinerary on how to spend a perfect day in this city, read on.
Bloom
As much as I love this city, one shortfall is its lack of specialty coffee shops. You have to dig deep and do a lot of research if you want to start your morning with a decent coffee, but don't fret we've got you covered. Head straight to Bloom for a creamy flat white and a spot o ..read more
