I know what I like, and I also know what you guys like so we are starting a "favorites" series where each month I'll post my favorite items/experiences/trends/restaurants you name it. Whatever stuck out to me the most that month - makes the list. I love getting to be a resource to you guys by weeding out what's worth it and what's not so that you end up with the best of the best in terms of recommendations. Let's get into it. VANESSA'S SEPTEMBER FAVORITES: Golf Infused facial at Skin Pharm: I'm actually going back on my word with this one. I tried it once a couple of years ago ..read more

The Cheeky Been

If you're finding yourself indulging one too many times in the finer things in life, this blog post is for you. Most of you know by now that health and wellness are foundational pillars in my life. However, I somehow landed myself in a sugar craving routine with little motivation to go to the gym as of late. I knew I needed to snap out of it, but I also wasn't finding the will power to just make the changes on my own.  Enter Kroma. I had listened to a podcast with the founder of Kroma Wellness, Lisa Odenweller, months back, and I loved her approach to wellness. Their 5-day reset is an ..read more

Vampires Blood Pomegranate Martini

If you know me, you know my all time favorite cocktail is a Pomegranate Martini. I'm traditionally not a big Halloween girly, but now that I have an almost 3 year old (where did the time go!?), I'm really leaning into my Halloween era. That said, this blood-red cocktail is the perfect showstopper for a Halloween party or moody October night! This super simple cocktail is a mix of pomegranate juice, orange vodka, PAMA liqueur, and triple sec.  We created this cocktail and I immediately sent it to all of my friends. Getting to create fun and inspiring things like this are truly what gets ..read more

Plaid Skirt // Turtleneck Sweater // Knee High Boots // Camel Dad Coat  I love the holidays! Everything from the food, to the togetherness, and all the cozy decorations just give me all the feels. It is arguably my favorite time of year. This year obviously looks a lot different for many of us, but I'm still excited to bring you the holiday content you know and love - starting with this outfit. I actually shot this last year, and before I could post it, the entire outfit was sold out from head to toe. That said, almost all the pieces are back for round 2 this year and wit ..read more

What We Have For The Baby So Far
The Cheeky Been
by The Cheeky Been

Being a first time mom, I know first hand how overwhelming all things baby can be. It's comforting to chat with others who are in the same boat about products, what items you like and don't like, and have a little bit of a guide as to what items are popular. I personally had no idea where to start in the beginning. I feel fortunate to have the platform I do as many of you helped me with recommendations along the way. I took your most popular recommendations from stories and compared them to the "most popular" or "best selling" items on several baby retailer websites and based what we p ..read more

Shane and I are so excited to share that we will be welcoming a baby BOY in December 2020. We were completely shocked and surprised by this as both of us thought it was a girl up until Sunday! Regardless, we are overjoyed with excitement and can't wait to welcome little man to the family. As you can see, Shane is so excited he actually looks like he just won the Masters, ha! I have to say, this was hands down one of the most special days of both of our lives and we are so happy we chose to keep it a true surprise & host a reveal with our closest friends and family. Shane described ..read more

The Cheeky Been

Let's be honest, it's not always convenient to carve out time for taxes. This rings true for Shane and I especially! If one is at home, the other is on the road traveling, and taxes always seem to be a last minute push for the both of us. They are time consuming, tedious, and complicated, but my roots with H&R block run deep! I have used their tax services yearly since my very first job as a Target employee working the meat department - true story! So when I heard about their Tax Pro Go option, I was all over it.  Tax Pro Go is a virtual tax service that matches ..read more

We celebrated Liams 1st birthday on Saturday, and it was nothing short of amazing! Celebrating his first birthday felt like such a big milestone not only for him - but for us as parents too. Most of you know Liam is our first child, and while birthdays mark the number of years we've been on this planet, if it's your first born, it also marks the number of years you've been a parent. So much has changed in the last year. I feel like I have a new identity; a new purpose. I plan to write a full post on what 1 year of motherhood ..read more

2022 Goals & How To Set Them
The Cheeky Been
by The Cheeky Been
1y ago
It's the start of a new year, and the internet and social media is buzzing with hopeful goals and resolutions for the year to come. I'm one of those people who loves to set new goals and resolutions, but I'm also one of those people who tends to fall off six months down the road. Over the years, I've become better though! Writing down my goals and publicizing them for the world to see has provided a level of accountability that works... sometimes.  We've (Shane and I) been taking a different approach over the last few years though. Instead of "resolutions", we call th ..read more
