Quinyon Mitchell became the first Toledo Rocket to be selected in the first round of the NFL Draft in 31 years when the Philadelphia Eagles chose him with the 22nd overall pick of the 2024 draft in Detroit on Thursday. The only other Rocket to be chosen in the first round was defensive lineman Dan Williams, who was taken with the No. 11 pick by Denver in 1993. The University of Toledo Board of Trustees approved 55 faculty members for promotion and tenure at its April meeting. The University of Toledo will host a banquet this weekend to honor individuals who chose to become living kidney donors through The University of Toledo Medical Center. The invite-only event, which will be held Sunday at the Pinnacle in Maumee, is a joint effort of The University of Toledo Foundation and UTMC.
