One of the biggest challenges for young people is making right choices. When it comes to decision-making, many youths, myself included, find it difficult to decide. When I was younger, my parents dedicated their energy to teaching and raising me right. I was taught simple basic etiquette, like how to talk, eat, and behave. However, as I grew older, I thought it was very unnecessary. “Why all these rules?” I wondered to myself. Gradually, I felt the urge to rebel. Whenever I was corrected or rebuked, I would wear a frown and mutter words like “I’m grown, I don’t need anyone to tell me what to d ..read more

Dealing with difficult people as a christian can be very challenging. However,The Bible admonishes every believer ,young or old to love and be at peace with all men. But we all know one or two people that make loving them a challenge. These “difficult people” intentionally overstep their boundaries, make fun of your personal principles and disrespect you in so many ways. They may be family members, colleagues at work, classmates, a random stranger, neighbors or even another Christian. How then do we deal with difficult people as a Christian? Is there a strategy to use when dealing w ..read more

No man is an island, they say. And it’s true! We humans need each other to thrive and survive. But let’s not forget the importance of choosing the right kind of people to surround ourselves with. After all, our friends can either make us or break us (and I’m not talking about breaking out in dance moves, although that can be fun too).
As a young believer, having godly friends is a must. Why? Well, the Bible warns us that “evil communication corrupts good morals.” So it’s essential to have friends who share your values and beliefs.
Now you might be wondering, who is a godly friend and what ar ..read more

There is a common practice among some Christians(evangelical Christians especially in Africa). It’s called “testimony Time”. This is a segment of the service where congregation members are encouraged to share their testimonies. Before I dive in and answer the question “should Christian Youths Share Their testimony”, let’s first define testimony.
What is Testimony and who is a testifier?
In law, testimony is evidence obtained from a witness mostly referred to as the testifier. Just as in law, the believer is a witness and his\her story is evidence of the goodness and faithfulness of God in thei ..read more

We live in a world where for many the term “father” denotes a dictator. He is a male figure who gives orders at home and is hardly around. He doesn’t know much about his kids, and always forgets their birthdays or important events.
Many Christian youths who grew up around such a male figure may find it difficult to believe that God is a loving Father. One very distinctive nature of God is His fatherhood. ( Abba ). Throughout scripture, I see countless references to God as Father. Jesus referred to Him as Father. However, this was an issue back then and the religious people saw it as blasphemy ..read more

While I was in high school, I was introduced to the concept of “quiet time”. Honestly I had no idea what it was but somehow I showed interest. I was told that my quiet time was a daily routine, something I should do religiously. I did my best but I failed. Those 15 minutes was the most boring time of my life, it felt like torture. Need not say I didn’t continue. Fast forward to today’ I’m sitting at my desk drafting a post on quiet time, how amazing! Anyways the issue I had was I wasn’t properly taught the true meaning of quiet time and all the benefits attached. I wasn’t shown how to have an ..read more
