D-Tech Rotary Steerable and Almansoori successfully complete a challenging 8 ½-in. section in the Abu EL Gharadig Basin in Egypt. An operator in Egypt wanted a reliable and robust rotary steerable system to drill a challenging 8 ½-in. hole section. Multiple drilling problems were anticipated, including possible losses, potential tight-hole due to shale, differential sticking, and abrasive sand formation.
