RACE 1 DEEP DISCRETION looks to have found a very suitable race in which to break through. Last start finished 1.2L off Diego Dynamite in a maiden where they stopped the clock 3L faster than average. That should hold her in good stead in a thin race. SECOND LANDING trialled well recently at Lark Hill and has excellent maiden for alongside Rusty Dreams and Emerald Trader against her name. Just hasn’t raced for over 500 days. SPECIAL STREET can hold a spot and improve. MR UNIVERSE has shown a bit at trials. Numbers: 9 – 8 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – DEEP DISCRETION WIN RACE 2 IDYLLIC RULER returns t ..read more

Race 1 SIGNOR BILL relished the step up to 1400m to break his maiden last time and there’s depth to his previous form. BRIGHELLA gives the impression he will be suited stepping up to this trip. BRING FORTH comes through the same race as Brighella and also looks suited stepping up to 1400m. SNACK BAR led up in that race, he gets blinkers off and will give a sight. Selections: 3,2,5,1 Suggested Bet: Signor Bill to win Race 2 MAWALLOCK resumes from lengthy spell but is unbeaten first up and has jumped out in great style. WAKANJEJA has trialled impressively, she’s building a handy record and will ..read more

RACE 1 Big day at Eagle Farm as we kick off another Winter Racing Carnival. I’m leaning to the backmarker OSTERMEIER in this opening race who yes, will give away a decent start. All runs this prep have been at 1600m & he has been looking for further which he gets this afternoon, look for him to be sailing down the outside late. I swore off FIFTH POSITION a while back & fair to say he did have every chance last start, can definitely find a placing here though. BASARWA had no luck here latest run, prior form was only average though. Numbers: 6 – 4 – 10 – 8 Suggested Bet: Box up top 4 sel ..read more

RACE 1 Racing heads to Hawkesbury on Saturday for their stand-alone Cup Day. The meeting gets under way with a 2yo affair where I’m keen on the chances of MONTE VEEBEE who wasn’t fancied in the market on debut yet beat all bar the winner Imperial Force. Really liked his final 100m knuckling down & taking ground off the winner albeit without any threat. The additional 150m looks made to order. TRAFALGAR SQUARE hasn’t been far away in a couple of stronger races, other runs a win & placing. COMMANDING ARTIST has a win to his name, not many going around here with that stat, must include. THURSDAY Adelaide v Port Adelaide, Adelaide Oval, 5.30pm Not a great deal separated these teams in betting earlier in the week. Once it was announced that Port Adelaide skipper Connor Rozee had passed a fitness test on a hamstring he appeared to tweak against St Kilda, the Power’s price dissipated. It doesn’t mean Port are over the line by any stretch. Adelaide, despite boasting a 2-5 win/loss record, are looking more and more like the side we saw in and around the top eight for most of 2023. Their midfield is more explosive, they are moving the ball from defence with greater efficiency and th ..read more

Race 1 DUTY BOUND (2) has finished 2nd at his last two starts but looks the leader and gets a great chance to go one better tonight. BEE JAYS BOY (4) was an impressive winner three starts back but has struggled from wide draws at his subsequent starts. He should enjoy a nice run from this barrier and looks a major player. WALL STREET GIRL (1) is almost certain to be crossed at the start but will be charging home if she sees daylight at the right time. THOMSON BAY (11) continues to race well and will be running on. Tips: 2 4 1 11 Suggested Bet: DUTY BOUND (2) to win. Race 2 FRANCO ECUADOR (1) d ..read more

MANDURAH  Race 3 No. 4 Mind Reader Copped a few checks last time yet his effort was still good when he finished off well out wide. Can get into the race quickly and just needs to offset the draw here to threaten.  Race 5 No. 6 Cut Model and No. 9 Pumping Gas  The 6 was superb last week showing those reliable box manners and early speed. Very hard to get past on the arm and will again look for that early. The 9 will get over to the fence and while he can’t beat these on equal terms, he might get a few cheap runs along the rails late to place. EW spec for him .Race 8 No. 3 Uncompr ..read more

RACE 1 LEXINGTON CITY looks the only speed in the quartet of runners. Expect he will bounce straight on the lead and from there Chris Parnham will be able to dictate terms to them and turn it into a sit and sprint to suit himself. He drops 4.5kg on a brave second to highly talented filly The Boss Lady over 1100m and he should nearly pinch this. PREMIUM CHOICE is a previous 28 day winner, has Paul Harvey jumping on and is a dynamite Ascot 1000m sprinter. Danger. THOMAS MAGNUM arguably has the best point to point acceleration in the race. BEADS next best. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – L ..read more

Luton Town v Everton Time is running out for Rob Edwards to save Luton Town’s season and, on current form, it’s not easy to make a case for them against Everton. The Hatters are on 25 points and occupy the last relegation place. Nottingham Forest are a point above them, while second-last Burnley (24 points) are also in the three-way fight to avoid the drop. Only one of the three can survive with Sheffield United already relegated. Luton have had their moments during their first ever Premier League season. They’ve enjoyed taking on Newcastle with a home win secured by Andros Townsend before a 4 ..read more

CANNINGTON Race 1 No. 2 Emmy Nakayama and No. 1 Dozen Staples Both dogs trialling well and while they are limited, so are the rest of these. This fav has only won 1 from 18 with 10 placings which is a concern. Speed in the middle as well. Small EW specs on the inside two, especially Emmy. Race 2 No. 8 Now See Here and No. 2 Heathers Pick The 8 was good last week. Wandered around a little but stuck on strongly late and looks to be well drawn wide. Improves again here. The 2 will get a gun run here at a price. The red goes straight ahead first turn so she just needs to stay close and she can run ..read more
