We adopted Woody from Seattle Humane in October 2018. Originally from a shelter in Ft. Worth Texas, Seattle Humane offered him a chance for a better life. Unknowingly, Woody’s adoption bagan my path into the world of rescue. Woody was a wonderful family member. He did great with our cat but remained fearful of visitors. The longer we were together, the more we realized that he needed another dog to teach him how to trust. In March 2020, we adopted a puppy from Wenatchee Humane. We are so excited to be shining a light on our amazing foster parents Rob Lavroff and Ashley Parkurst this month. Rob and Ashley are always ready to help when we reach out to them about vulnerable pets in need of fostering, and they’ll often offer to pick up the same day. Milo (formerly Jason) is my absolute best friend. He was the first and only cat I decided to meet that day and I fell in love immediately. He just seemed like the biggest cuddlebug ever and that’s definitely true, such a velcro cat. He now spends his days following me from room to room, including the bathroom and getting into all sorts of trouble. Just today he got into my mac n cheese and last week he ate entire hot dog I left unattended for 20 seconds.
