If you read my last post you remember me mentioning about doing a refresh on the blog.  If you look at it currently, you'll see that it hasn't happened yet.  There has been a reason for that and it actually wasn't laziness.  A day or so after Christmas my desktop slowed down.  I will take blame for it, but as a result, it became unbearingly slow.  It was around that time that I was already planning on using the Chromebook more, because I planned to use my new Chromecast but the idea was to do a lot of other stuff on the desktop still.  I'm stuck in my own wa ..read more

I have to call out a fellow blogger.  It pains me to put them on the spot, but sometimes you must.  It's not often someone chides you in a comment on one of your posts.  However it occurred a little over a year ago.  However since its the season of giving, I'll give a couple pictures before I call them out. All my stocking are hung with care! In the last couple months I've found all these pairs of socks at Dollar Tree.  I'm not planning on wearing them, but they look really nice on display, and a nice conversation piece.  The tree may not be a big deal t ..read more

150 Years Is A Long Time- Finale

Another long hiatus, this one wasn't planned.  I was a little busy with a few things and just now got around to finishing up this 3 parts series.  Not much to say, as parts one and two talked about the town history a bit.  Today I will show off the parade and the museum, and the items inside. We'll begin with the parade.  Our town has 2 yearly parades, one at Christmas like most towns do, and one the third weekend in July, which is when the 2 night rodeo is held.  This year we added a third one for one time only.  It was a longer one than the other two (this ..read more

I didn't plan to wait this long between this 3 post set, but I had a few things to do this week.  Anyways, thanks to all who read part 1, and at the end I posted links to more photos that I posted on Facebook shortly after the event.  The focus on today's post will revolve around the car show, but I do have a few other things to show around town.  I will talk about that a bit and then let the car show photos speak for themselves.  Not much more to intro for this post that I didn't in the last so let's begin. This was actually a bonus photo that I took to show my mo ..read more

Royal Card Review

For about two years I've been very excited about something.  This past June was the culmination of my excitement.  Since then I have been wanting to make a post or two (or as I found out, three posts) about this event that caused the excitement.  As many of you may know from reading my blog, I'm not the keenest person when it comes to history.  I can mostly get the Cliff's Notes (is that still a thing) version and if I have a bit of interest I'll read more about it.  The computer age has helped me learn more events in history then anything in school ever did (but I'm g ..read more

If you're a long time reader of the blog (first of all thank you for sticking around), you know two things about me- first I'm not in the habit to write the last few years just to make posts and only when I was in the mood, and second, the fall season is one I tend to write the least.  I didn't plan on not writing for two months, but it happened.  In fact if I wasn't thinking of something to do I probably would have extended that streak.  Just my searching for files did I notice I had some stuff to show and its been a while since I've blogged.  Almost two months, and ..read more

I've said for quite a while that I have to be in a mood to write.  I really was planning on writing 3-5 posts this month, and then starting finding old scans which I can do more posts on.  However I was never in the mood to write.  I have spent a lot of the last month cleaning my computer up and part of that process found me find some lost folders of scans I planned in 2017 (YES 2017) of a series of posts.  Hopefully this fall I will show those.  Currently I'm on a project of finally cleaning up my picture folder.  Not scans of cards, but scans of family pho ..read more

Feeling Hot Hot Hot!
Royal Card Review

All across the country, well the World, there is a heat wave.  In the midwest, it isn't near as bad as Arizona, but we are in the third straight day of an excessive heat advisory or warning.  My motto is usually "if its over 90, I'll stay inside".  I'll be honest, I stay inside a lot, but on the bright side, I have plenty to do to keep me busy.  I have a special blog I might get to soon (I would say some point in August), but today I have a few more things to show off including some finished puzzles.  Most have been finished for a while, but I never posted them ..read more

I was talking to a friend the other day and he asked when I was going to post next.  Everything I post on here he knows about, but I think he likes reading long form instead of just FB messenger.  As I've said lately, I have to be in the mood.  That said, I've wanted to do a few posts as of late but just haven't done it.  I have a couple I have planned, one with exclusive photos from a few Facebook albums I made last month. I might even spread that out to a few posts, but not promising that.  I came onto blogger a few days ago and I felt terrible.  Usually I ..read more

I've Lost That Loving Feeling
Royal Card Review

Usually I have a long intro and segue into the post, but today is a bit different.  As you can tell from the sporadic postings, I just don't have the love for blogging anymore.  Now I'm not saying goodbye, because I never like fully closing doors and who knows I may get into the mood again.  However if you expect monthly or more posts for me, I am here to say it likely won't be happening.  I will probably post a few times a year and at some point I will have a post where I thank my most ardent readers.  Again, it won't be goodbye forever, but a chance to say my p ..read more
