If you signed up for my Pack A Daily do-over mailouts, the first round has been mailed!! Note that I had (and still have) mailers that were already put together as well, so those have gone out or will be going out before Christmas. I had hoped to bring PAD Circus back in 2020, but my daughter is a senior this year so not sure how much time I can put into it. We’ll see!! So, if you picked a team, I hope you enjoy your cards!! Allen & Ginter Case Break BOX TOPPER Update
Tribe Cards
by --David
1y ago
Hey, everyone! I have removed the "ALL Box Toppers" option as a separate buy-in. Instead, box toppers will go to the team(s)/spot(s) chosen by participants! That's right, folks: If your team/spot pulls a box topper, YOU get it! Wahoo!! Remember, the cut off is August 10th at 11:59pm Central US Time. The break is planned for Saturday, August 11th! The break will most likely *NOT* be live due to Internet issues at my house, but I will record the breaks and post them to the Tribecards: The Hobby YouTube channel, make posts to Twitter, and will put together a highlights video/pictures. Off Topic: 1993 Leave It To Beaver Model Airplane Magazine Card
Tribe Cards

One of my favorite hobbies is writing for "A Pack to Be Named Later," where the goal of the group is open at least one pack of every collectible card ever made. Within that, I go out of my way to find weird packs of cards, such as the 1993 Pacific Leave It To Beaver (above).  As you see in the picture, Beaver is holding a "Model Airplane News" magazine. When I posted the card, Bo did some poking around and found that the issue of Vogue was from 1960. So, I went on a quest to see if I could find the magazine that Beaver is holding.  After a bit of searching, I was able to f ..read more

My Own Custom Cleveland Baseball Cards (1981 Topps Style)
Tribe Cards
by --David

A couple years ago, I started a project in which I was going to create a custom set of Indians cards. The set would include EVERY player to have played for the Tribe. I used the 1981 Topps layout because that's one of my all-time favorite sets. Below are the cards I was able to complete. There are subsets within the main set. They include the "81-on-81" (1981 Topps cards on my 81 Topps design), "The Jerseys" (Featuring jerseys from various eras), "Mascots and Logos" featuring mascots and various iterations of Wahoo and other logos, "Alternate Images" and there were probably others that ..read more

Guardians, yes. Font and logo design, no.

Welcome to Guardians Baseball Cards. Well, I assume that's what we'll call this joint now. I'm actually fine with the name. Would I have preferred others over it? Sure. But, meh. It is what it is. As for the logo and font design, though!? The organization has the prime opportunity to REBRAND itself. Quite literally. Drop the old 50's-70's font style. Heck, why even keep the same color scheme? Well, okay, keep the red, white, and blue. You know, 'Murica and all. But, these designs...  Just... no. I can only hope these are potential options, though I am sure we are too far into thin ..read more

I Dropped the Ball
Tribe Cards

Welcome to 2021. In line with the ball dropping to signal the new year, I, too, have dropped the ball. Unfortunately, my drop is of the negative kind.  I have no real reason nor excuse for not getting the 12 Days of Cardmas packages put together and mailed out. The simple fact is: I dropped the ball.  The packages will come, eventually. I am sorry for letting this slip by me. Hope your 2021 goes MUCH better than your 2020 ..read more

Yet Another PAD Circus Update! (07/04/2019)
Tribe Cards

Whew! You would not believe how many cards I've been sorting through... Or, maybe you would if you've been around for the several PAD Circus projects we've had over the years. Because of the holiday, I was actually able to knuckle down and just get the sorting done.  Or, mostly done. I still have oversized and oddball-sized items to sort (A&G box loaders, Bowman big, Topps Big, Donruss large cards, an 8x10 or two, Topps coins/chipz, MSA discs, etc etc). I did a VERY rough estimate of the cards which are sorted into team boxes (pictured below). At roughly 600+ cards per team (except ..read more

PAD Circus Revisited, Update of sorts
Tribe Cards
by --David

The Pack-A-Daily Circus (PAD Circus, for short - PAD even shorter) was a fun event I ran for several years here on the blog. In a nutshell, I opened one pack of cards for every day during the regular baseball MLB season. Readers could choose teams or players, depending on the rules of the given season, and then those would be assigned to the participants. The original premise was that each participant would get all the cards they "won" during the season. It was a LOT of fun to do! But, the sticking point came in that last bit: they were SUPPOSED to get the cards they pulled during the seaso ..read more
