A cheque for £600 was presented to Tavistock Area Support Services (TASS) at the Club’s Coffee Morning on Saturday 2 December. The Club’s Annual Dinner & Presentation Evening was held at Tavistock Golf Club on Friday 17 November. Members enjoyed a lovely three-course meal before the trophy presentation took place. Around 40 members attended to take part in a charity game of bowls before the Green was closed on Saturday 23 September. A theme of red, white & blue was set for the afternoon and players excelled themselves with a wide range of amazing outfits. The aim of the day was to raise money for TASS, the Club’s Charity of the Year. A very enjoyable Cream Tea was provided after the game together with a raffle – proceeds from both of these will go to TASS, along with monies raised during the game ..read more

Stephen has sent the following by email from Australia and also two photos. “The Para competition is complete and we came away with Bronze – which is a fair reflection on my skills as the Silver and Gold medallists have 10-20 years international experience and that showed when it came to pressure shots. South Africa got Silver and Australia Gold. However, in group stages, we did hold Australia to a draw. Due to Covid, the championships were delayed so the next one is in two years time in Hong Kong. Club member, Stephen Hartley, & his partner, Alison Yearling, are through to the semi-finals of the Para Visually Impaired Mixed Pairs competition at the World Bowls Championships being held on the Gold Coast in Australia. They have beaten teams from Hong Kong & New Zealand, drawn with Australia, and lost to South Africa & Scotland.
