What a fantastic final we saw! It was neck and neck all the way through with both ladies: Louise Baldwin and Judith Staunton fighting it out shot for shot. Louise reached the magic 150 before Judith but the win was only about 10 point ahead! The two wonderful players showed the considerable crowd what can be achieved with practice, concentration and grit. No one will forget this match for a long time ..read more

Yesterday at Clovelly Bowling Club we were treated to one of the best Bendigo Cup Finals ever! Roderick James Roper and Scott "C U Jimmy" Irving battled it out for almost four hours to the delight of a transfixed crowd. Bowl by bowl, end by end, the two brilliant players fought with accuracy, strategy and sometimes magic until Scotty reached 31 points first. The Club audience and the passing crowd on the Coast Walk clapped and cheered in amazement as the two players fiercely focused on landing closest to the jack. The team with the most points won the overall prize money! Our Bocce members were kept busy explaining the rules of their beloved Italian game to delighted Lawn Bowlers who, in turn, taught them their game. There was much laughter and friendship which was made even more wonderful by a delicious lunch of sausage sandwiches fresh from the BBQ. It had been two years since we had been able to stage this event ..read more
