This past weekend the Frick Park Lawn Bowling Club hosted the 2022 NED Pairs Playdowns for an opportunity to advance to the National Championship being played in Sun City Arizona in early November. It was a welcome affair after a two year hiatus due to Co-vid 19. The women's bracket was not very dramatic as unfortunately there was only one team entered to play. The good news is they are two of the very best in the NED Division. Eileen Luba, a past National Champion hailing from FPLBC ,will be playing with Veronica Sum playing out of Essex Lawn Bowling Club in New Jersey. Veronica also serves a ..read more

The Frick Park Lawn Bowling Club helped “Light Up” Point Breeze earlier this month by hosting a table and mini-lawn bowling green at this popular, holiday community event. Light Up Point Breeze had been put on hold during the pandemic, but was back this year with lights, holiday cheer and families. Performances included the Taylor Allderdice High School Marching Band, Sunburst School of Music and more. This kid-focused event was a fun opportunity to showcase a little taste of lawn bowli ..read more

This April, my wife and I completed our retirement trip to the United Kingdom that we planned for March of 2020. In addition through the aid of the Internet I found several lawn bowling clubs in the Dublin area and had one of them, Leinster invite me for " sandwich and cake" after we rolled. We were excited because of it's proximity to Trinity College a great tourist destination. As fate would have it, we could not make th ..read more

Phyllis Genszler  was a long time member of the Frick Park Lawn Bowling Club.  She passed away on November 18th and will be sorely missed. Phyllis was not just a bowler in our club. She served as club secretary for many years where she brought a business like expertise to correspondences, membership and communication to include even inactive members.  She had her finger on the pulse of the club. She was kind and considerate of everyone she met, and would often volunteer to sit out a picnic game so a late comer could play.  She helped with coaching sessions, but never pushe ..read more
