On Wed September 20th a group of hardy club members dedicated their day to start preparations for the “Bowls USA US Open 2023”. There was planning, painting, drilling, straightening, cleaning and a few aching muscles by the end of the day. The month of April saw a change to warmer days and our greens came out of their winter hibernation and are running well.  The Pearl Wart weed is dying off, but we’re still looking for one more treatment to nail the coffin shut.  Our website (www.longbeachlbc.com) continues to be a great resource that includes our club calendar of events, and now our new member directory among other things. Forty-two bowlers from across Southern California came dressed in their carnival best to enjoy the 2023 Carnival hosted by Pat Gonzales and the LBLBC a 25 year tradition. The winners included Jake Jeffery,Kelly Warren, Peg Anderson, Dan Paul Dan Cornwell, Gilbert Wong, Steve Folick and Dan Mathhaus.
