With my heart stuffed full of a million different emotions, today I share the news with you that Feminist Frequency is closing. Our staff and Board members have done so much to help me prepare to make this announcement today, but it still feels like taking a deep breath and jumping off a diving board to communicate this message to the countless people who have turned to Feminist Frequency, supported our work, and buoyed me up over the past fourteen years. Below, you can read more details about our programs and the plan for operations coming to a close, but first I want to just share more perso ..read more

Have you had Enough Already??
Feminist Frequency
by Anita Sarkeesian

It’s safe to say, there have been some really sh*tty moments in 2021. Whether you’ve been a victim of harassment yourself or just watched as news stories about abuse in the games industry played out across your feed, it’s been a tough year. When we sat down to write about the state of games and media, the thing that kept floating to the top again and again is that we have had ENOUGH.  Enough stories of people in high positions abusing their power. Enough with companies turning a blind eye to harassers or actively working against the collective bargaining of thei ..read more

Each year, the barrage of game releases feels bigger and more unmanageable than the last. In some ways, I suppose that’s a good problem to have, but it does mean that there are some much-talked-about games that I simply haven’t played, or haven’t played enough to know what I think of them. These games include Return of the Obra Dinn, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, and Subnautica, among others. 2018 strikes me as a year of highs and lows. There are a number of games that received considerable critical and popular acclaim that I dislike, and while there was nothing this year that had quite as much wi ..read more

Today, Feminist Frequency is launching our Spring Campaign.
