The Scar Bias  The older you get in Markets more Scars you have from previous Bull Market Mistakes There are 3 types of Scars 1) Personal Scar Where you participated in the Company/Sector/Group as an Investor and Lost Money of an Opportunity Loss. 2) Seen not Hit Did not participate but have seen the Past Actions of the Company/Sector/Group. 3) Hear Say No Scar but a Fear from what you have heard about the Company/Sector/Group. Bharti Airtel – Can it Catch Speed & Reliance Inds – Can take Charge? Telecom as a sector has been a Slow and Steady Mover in last 1 year. A fundamental logic according to me is if Idea OFS is a success implies the Tariff Hikes are coming in FY25. Else its difficult for Idea to survive. The biggest beneficiary is Bharti Airtel and Reliance in case of hikes. Now if you look at the Shareholding Structure you realize –Although FIIs have been net sellers in India but buyers in Airtel. 1) INDIA VIX – No Fear of Elections IndiaVIX – Generally going into Elections, Budget and known events the Option Pricing tends to factor in the risk with VIX going higher. Look at the spike and subsequent drop in VIX post 2014 and 2019 elections. This time around looks like Market has no Fear of Elections. 2) Nifty50 – Trend up 3) BankNifty – Contra works better now. For more than a decade from 2009 to 2020 – Banks were always the leaders in any trend. That seems to have changed post Covid. Now its more a Contra Bet.
