In latest news from Doon, the State tourism and culture minister Satpal Maharaj exuded confidence that given the rush for Char Dham yatra registration this year, the number of pilgrims might surpass that of last year which stood at 56.31 lakh. In latest news from Uttarakhand, acting on the directive of the senior superintendent of police, Pauri, Lokeshwar Singh, the district police arrested Nitin Mohabia, accused of a fraud case and a case of stealing two-wheeler, from Sirohabgarh in Garhwal Srinagar.
Police acted after two persons lodged two FIRs against the accused in two separate cases. In the first case, Mohabia was accused of duping the complainant of Rs 67,800 in the sale of an iPhone and as per the second FIR, the accused took away a scooty from the complainant and never returned.
